  1. I think it's a solid idea, however the main concern I have is how it's specifically done. If they are to have access and actually be part of a department, then it'd need to be an entirely new job, code wise. AFAIK, alt-titles aren't really able to be used to change access on cards or what department you're in in the crew manifest. When it comes to actual access and equipment, I'm not sure how to account for them in - for instance, additional insulated gloves in engineering for engi assistants.
  2. It's especially good for newbies who aren't confident in setting up the engine for instance. Or a medical assistant - no ones gonna expect you (and get angry at you) for not knowing surgery.
  3. ahhh that didnt animate on discord properly SO MAGIC
  4. Common decency and basic politeness really aren't part of SoP. This is the kinda thing a department head should be sorting out.
  5. There's a few ways that can be done, yes. But hosting a second server and syncing it up with the first might actually be even more of a coding nightmare.
  6. This is a big part of why wizard rounds are so short. People try to just murderbone as a wizard with no real plan or more importantly, escape route. If anything I'd like to see apprentice, demons, etc, lowered in cost/encouraged more to make it have more people/not end so quickly/etc. One of my most memorable wizards rounds I was an apprentice with 2 other apprentices both with mindswap. Hilarity ensured. Ragin' Mages is just slaughter and destruction with no hope for the crew at all. Wizard is...usually a nerd in a silly hat being beaten to death in a corridor. There needs to be a better in between.
  7. I quite like the idea. Operator is too close to operative, might wanna go with handler or the like. I'd have extra high priority on not getting caught and being subtle. Maybe have the chance for other agents to get a bonus for meeting them in person. I'd also maybe change the pda message bit to avoid them being found out too easily. The tc amount seems a little high too.
  8. I don't see this change giving any real positives or adding much at all. I do however see it being used for a lot of stupidity and memes, as has already been demonstrated. The system we have now seems fine, and has worked well. Thus, this won't be a change we'd like to see.
  9. Pester HoP for job as fire distinguisher. Wear firesuit. Inform people as to whether they are, or are not, on fire. This is a vital service. Run into plasma fires to test if needs be.
  10. @Landerlow When you biblefart, admins get a message with a link to a menu with a range of options, from subtle messages up to gibbing, brain damage, and cluwning.
  11. I have been known to reset the usage for really really good/bad puns. But i kinda love having to really pick the one line in the shift you think is worth it.
  12. Shake them up i guess. I'd classify it as resisting, too..though they likely have already
  13. Was Jenkins born that stupid, or did he take special classes? (<3 tully)
  14. With the move speed refactors, can any coder types tell us if there are more options here than before?
  15. We're really not too interested in more options for dead people to rejoin the game. We currently have mice, drones, npcs, mining bots, and a whole bunch of mid-round antags. The non antag ones are meant to be mostly noninstrusive, just fun little things to pass the time with. Something like this (whose job is appears is to mess with people) is much too obtrusive on the round and the players. If you want to play something that interacts so much with crew like that, play a crewmember.
  16. This does not really fix them, as they will still have the memory of being a cluwne, a horrible fate to inflict on anyone. This is just prolonging their suffering and humiliation. Only in death may they find peace.
  17. If every traitor is allowed to go as wild as they want, then expect the shuttle to be called very early and mass bombings and plasma release nearly constantly. That however, is not the suggestion being given in this post. The suggestion to remove kill objectives I don't really understand - no reasoning has been given as to why they're a bad objective, or why there would be an improvement for removing them, it's just being suggested it be removed. The risk of being assassinated - and not just so they can steal your hyperspray - adds a huge amount of fear and atmosphere to the game, and I find is an interesting and fun objective, which can be quite challenging depending on your target, or your preferred style(s).
  18. The PR isn't the hard part here - the SoP needs to be done for it first, including the changes to pre-existing alert levels, and working out exactly what it would entail, what the messages would be to the crew, etc.
  19. 11TC minimum - means it can only be done once.
  20. @purpose2 on 19/6, can confirm. Looks like one on 26/5 as well.
  21. Roundstart blobs do scale for player count. Midround blobs don't, and have a random spawn location - some of these can be in godawful locations to. One spawned the other day in the dorm toilets, and was being attacked by 5 people before the player even loaded into it. (Btw, the spawn locations happen to be the same places the disk can teleport to randomly, something I only learned recently). The intent of midround blob isn't to win, however - especially because winning for a blob involves taking out the whole station basically, fucking over all the pre-existing antags. The idea is to increase the chaos and entropy of the round, essentially upping the threat and quickening the pace of the end of the round. It gives a chance for antags to use the distraction to complete their objectives if they haven't already, and to unify the crew against a common threat, or cause them to say fuckit and call the shuttle after the damage it's done. Rarely the blobs do win then, so it is a threat if not checked, but...ah shit. Yeah what @tayswift said while I was typing this.
  22. The biggest thing I can think there - with actual virus etc - is making it legal for them to go around with syringe guns shooting people full of vaccines, or detaining if necessary.
  23. Love it in theory, but not sure how it'd look in actual effect. What would an engi alert do that makes it different from code green? (Maybe, engineers can no longer be charged with trespass?). Same for medi alerts, etc.
