This is about due for a bit of an update, given its been about 5 years since it was posted. Keep in mind that anything in this post isn't official policy and how it works may be different from appeal to appeal. Any information in this post is more of a guide, and may vary with your appeal or situation. The intent of this post is just to give some clarity to how it "usually" works and cover some FAQs. Which server(s)? We typically prefer vouches from servers with similar rulesets and environment to ours, but it primarily depends on the ban in question. A HRP server for example might be good if you had an LRP playstyle or banned for LRP actions, but it doesn't matter too much, so long as its a consistent server with decent playercount, not one your friend hosted for a week for you to grind out hours. We'd prefer English speaking servers if possible, due to ease of communication. An example, getting a ban for powergaming too hard as security and focusing too hard on redtexting and hunting down antags. A server like CM wouldn't be a good fit, since that focuses almost entirely on combat, but something like Monkestation for example would work well, so long as you don't repeat the same mistakes on it. How do I get a vouch? The admins or head admins on the server may be willing to get in contact with one of ours, or we can reach out to them regarding it. We ask them about your behaviour on the server, whether or not you've followed the rules, etc. If you haven't been banned, or repeatedly ran into issues there, you'll be fine. Remember, repeatedly pestering people about vouches doesn't get you anywhere, it takes time for people to respond to messages and/or get in contact. Repeatedly pestering staff about a vouch will only result in your ban being harder to appeal. What should a vouch include? We generally just want to see that you were able to behave yourself on a server similar to ours, following the rules without issue, and overall being a decent player. If you played on another server for the amount of time and had 0 notes, warnings, bans, or admins recognising your name (in a bad way), that's perfect. Its by no means a requirement to go unnoticed, but its usually a good sign that you are willing to follow the rules. How do I get a vouch from Paradise for another server that asked me to? Feel free to throw an ahelp in round, or directly message/ping one of the staff team on Discord. A head admin is your best bet, since they have easy access to directly message the heads of most of the other servers. I don't like this system, why do you do it stupid smelly badmin! We've found it works well to see if people can behave themselves on similar servers, and to see if they'll follow the rules once unbanned. It also gives the banned player a break from this server, so we can see if the issue repeats after they've cooled off somewhat.
