forgive the mess, since i literally just took spark's picture and fucked with it in paint tool SAI, but what about somethin like this? course remove the uh, airlock next to the window up at the desk. alternatively swap the medical area with the top right equipment, but i think putting the desk and bin in the top left would be an improvement; course that means someone would have to edit the disposal pipes, but i can always do that. there's plenty of room with your adjustment either way, love! my changes are largely aesthetic.

I did it. It's taken a full month, and I think there may still be some stuff in need of polish, but I finally finished making Paradise's Cyberiad in Minecraft. This used to exist back when Xenos was a gamemode, and yes, it was horrible. Xenoborgs now are just a fun thing for the crew to take advantage of if they manage to kill a queen.

I do implore you and others to stick around; changes like these that cause a stir in the community are not an indication of the direction that the staff want the server to go. They are often implemented without much, if any, approval from the admin team or playerbase. Considering the amount of backlash this PR and some other recent ones have garnered, especially from a good chunk of the admins, there's a good chance this will be reverted at some point.

Oh shit, the PI was Kennard Rose and Kazk was my event character! She's actually part of something much, much bigger that I have written out. This is really cool, and I'm flattered it sparked an idea - one that I'm totally eager to see play out, since the records are so underutilized that it's painful.

The problem with Xenos is that they aren't balanced at all, they are so broken that their actual gamemode was removed from round rotation, and they only show up as a mid-round randomly spawned antagonist. It's pure agony whenever they do, because the round goes from fun to garbage in seconds. Giving them an objective so that the round ends when they inevitably snowball would be a good idea, actually, because currently the only way to end a xeno round when there are no crew left and they've killed multiple ERTs is nuking the station.

Well according to mythology, Kitsune can technically shapeshift, so they wouldn't necessarily have to look like a fox the whole round. You could have them take on a human form in order to perform the majority of their actions (opposable thumbs help!), but retain the option to turn into a fox form as a utility of some kind. Perhaps the danger of using this fox form is that the more hearts you consume, the more tails you have, so you'll stand out when people are starting to hunt you down. I think the servants idea is detrimental to this; we have too many "thrall"-types as is and people generally dislike them quite a lot. Perhaps limit the servant to one person, considering the myths around Kitsune tricking men and women into marrying them, but it acts like a mindslave implant. That way you have to make a very important choice as to who you "befriend" and when, and it encourages the resumption of roleplay if you want your servant to remain inconspicuous. If your servant dies? That's it, no more servants. Protect your tools. Granted, this idea comes with its own risks, as there are a few players and antag mains who have a large friend pool to choose from, so you'd end up with people willingly being enslaved. You'd also have the problem of people using the servant to murderbone the station, or the kitsune immediately bumrushing someone of high status to enslave. These issues would have to be ironed out and considered if this develops further than a concept. Make eating hearts the ability and goal from the get-go, with the rewards coming at 3 (small), 6 (moderate) and 9. 9 turns your objective into pure survival; get on a pod or the shuttle and book it out of there, ready to do it all over again to some other hapless group. I encourage creative thinking and the utilisation of foreign mythology to make interesting antags for this community; keep thinking and working on it!

A lot of people state that this is what the "Assistant" role is technically for, but funnily those same people refuse to accept trainees out of fear they might break things or be traitors - Security especially. I do think that either a trainee role or just a significant change in the mindset would definitely help newer and rustier players.
