  1. Bah, he won't harm you! Unless I contract him to, or he contracts himself, for that matter... remind Jonah to not cryo when he gets a hit put up against him in the future unless you want to have a chance to become calamari.
  2. HAHAHAHAHAHA! Good lord Zeke looks terrified! Elliot's not horrifying unless you've been robusted by him. That or you're in a room filled with gibs and Elliot Campbell and the door closes.
  3. I can't help but to feel a little disappointed. Not that I matter but the drunken pirate theme would have been a fun thing for him I think. Instead he got a life and a partner. Is this what it means to grow up? I don't want that. D: RIP pirate Zeke. You will always be remembered in Phantasmic's drawings Heehee, one of the reasons why it stopped was because it was getting hard for me the grab the pirate outfit. Some of the out fit would already be gone and like you can just do part of the outfit its either all or nothing (at the time) plus I feel like I would have gotten board of doing that anyways, almost dying from a while bottle of rum is fun for so long. Ehh.... woopsiee.....*stashes the pirate coat in his satchel*
  4. As can racism, homophobia, other bigotry, poop, and ERP. Just because it can, doesn't mean it will be used for RP a majority of the time. Or even 1% of the time. And if your characters concept revolves around using netspeak so heavily that you can't play that character without it, then no great loss. There's a bittersweet line here. Racism, homophobia, bigotry, and ERP are all either offensive, not used correctly, or not rated PG13. Net speak is harmless. Saying a simple 'Kek' should be fine, or saying 'Lol' or, if you prefer, el-oh-el. I say 'Oh-Em-Gee' regularly, it isn't harmful whatsoever. If a player has to deal with something like that ICly, it can escalate and get worse, as well as ending up in somebody getting fairly miffed OOCly if the experience is ruined. The concept isn't so much that it is harmful, but more that it's obnoxious, unneeded, and just plain unfitting for the type of community we have or would like to have in the future. I would also like to reference one of my favorite metaphors that I've found, thanks to our local armchair psych, or at least dapper gentleman. [spoiler2]Posted originally in the "increase atmospheric spread" thread here. viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6884&hilit=cookie&start=60[/spoiler2] I'm with Neca in that I'd not like to see it anywhere near IC chats, aside from the occasional PDA message.
  5. The problem with that, is that we just don't allow it, and from how most admins handle the complaints about it, it's not something that's very flexible. Yes, people do it in real life. Yes, I wouldn't stop watching something just because of that sort of speech. But we're entirely dependent on player interaction and the amount of people joining. It's not so much "offending" somebody, as much as it's just being a dick to somebody. If people dislike something and ask you to knock it off, the simple rule of thumb is that you quit it. In any case, my final vote is a -1 as last time, no thanks by any means.
  6. -1 I get ahelps any time anybody uses netspeak, and it's an elephant in the room during most roleplay conversations. Not only this, but, no matter how much it feels like it isn't, the Cyberiad is a place of work and a research facility, if you wanted to go by lore. In terms of realism, this isn't, and hopefully never will be identical to real life and in some cases, even remotely close to it. OOC intervention into IC is at times necessary to maintain the environment we'd like to keep on the server, letting people "play their character their way" is something we try to do, so long as it doesn't ruin the atmosphere or detract from the experience of the server, which is why we don't allow holocaust jokes, racial slurs, references to real-life terrorism, and a number of other aspects that could reasonably be seen as incredibly distasteful (swearing at people is obviously allowed, just look up the word fuck and see how many pages of results you get! Just don't be a dick about it.) In personal terms. It's highly obnoxious, detracts from how I see the community of the game, and quite frankly makes your character look uneducated at times. (Understandably, some people try for their character to look uneducated, be aware netspeak is fine on PDAs.) P.S. Being a racist against In-Game species has always been allowed to a degree. Real discrimination is incredibly distasteful.
  7. Eh, loyalty implants were changed a long time ago to not be that. They're protective implants instead, like wearing some sunglasses around an ever-eyeflashing vampire, or a welding mask around a facehugger.
  8. Love it just as it stands. Old damned relic.
  9. Where you see romance, I see an opportunity for ghetto surgery.
  10. Welp, time to bring out the tools again and bust that wall down when I need something done and the doctors are crap. Good times...
  11. Ey! I wasn't that bad!
  12. 22, have to restate, by Adr's order I am still counted as a player!
  13. Damn it, this is not a nudist colony, I will jam you into a clown/mime hybrid suit! (Also, Jonah's going to damage his wrist if he tries to fire like that.)
  14. BWAHAHAHAHAAHA! You haven't lived till you've flipped off an ascendant!
  15. Not friggin' bad! They look pretty good.

  17. Tully, God of the fanfics. Or something.
  18. If it causes an EMP within the area (even if it is one tile), it's a bit more than just slightly more effective, and guns already hurt a ton, same with ion rifles,EMP grenades, etc. AP rounds sound solid though.
  19. Bah, no, you can only see ghosts as a ghost... or if you put the see invisible variable high enough. Same with hearing anything, except you have to be ghosted to do that, which usually one person is.
  20. For the David Tennant bit. [spoiler2]It's actually really damn impressive. And filled with my favorite object. Bawkses.[/spoiler2]
  21. Just no... really. I'd say more about it, but claws aren't OP, and bleeding can be fixed in a click of medical treatment. If they wanted to kill you they'd use something a lot more deadly, and the mangling process of items takes such a minimal amount of time as long as you have the item and wirecutters.
  22. How could you be worried about Von! That guy practically lives in the bar off of work, he's seen some things!
  23. So a normal day in vampire land? Honestly I find it even more funny if the character keeps their original traits and just complains about their condition. That or this happens instead.
