I really enjoyed doing this at times too, but like all fun things the playerbase mentality ruined it. Having Changelings going to security, playing nice and selling out their allies so they can do their stuff in peace, Vampire sec killing their brethren by virtue of being immune to the powers. Players were ruining antag rounds AS antags and being protected for doing it. But yea, this is very much preaching to the Choir as barely anyone on the server actually comes to these fourms. The best we can do is Space Law and Standard Operating Procedures to force it in game or rule changing for more extreme cases.

Yes please. If your going to use an antag for this discussion, leave the Nuke Ops out of it. They are vastly different from the others due to the huge amount of gear they get.

Immediately what comes to mind is "Ping is king". Anyone remotely lagging won't ever win against someone who has better ping and better chances of dodging from it. While that is true on Live, atleast it lets the players deal with those people getting that ONE shot off. Quite frankly, I don't know what this argument is about anymore. It's always back to tasers. Always about tasers. Sec has always had a multitude of instant stun options to them, stun batons, flashes, pepper spray, Beepsky. Tasers are utterly worthless right now outside of catching people starting small fights or self antagonizing and not having anything to deal with it. Try using it on an antag and you got someone with the equipment to actually deal with it.

Currently killing shadowlings does not remove thrall status, so having the game mode continue would have a bunch of people as antag's with no objectives.

All of these are so good, it makes me so sad we can't have lobby screens rotate out.

I never understand this complaint. I mean it's one thing to meta an antag, it's another to instantly transform into the person without a syringe involved. Yet when I watch Changlings do this, no one ever goes after them, no one says " X IS A LING!", they just ignore it and go. It's the equivalent of someone using a radbow on anyone they walk by and no one bats an eye to them.

I'm not having an opinion either way about this, but it's still irking me a lot to see you all falling back on it. If you all are going to say "Because the lore says you need X to talk like this", Then make an argument for why you can speak it over the radio.This is really just a pet peeve triggering seeing people using lore to defend it when that exact thing is literally ignored as of this moment.

Having own the book, not all of those pages are the rules. The Core Rule book has a short synopsis about the world so you know a little of the place, a small beastiary that goes up to max level and a starting campaign to introduce the game. The actual rules that the players deal with are about 150 ish pages.

Yea that's a big reason it's CREW and not humanoid in the first place, Nuke Ops would be in complete control of the AI during their raids and don't have to worry about being sighted, and the AI would be encouraged to go after the crew for trying to kill Nuke Ops, Changlings and Shadowlings. Also, ASIMOV is meant to have the big loopholes, that's what it was originally written for after all.

You can click it to have it "Return to Lobby if jobs are unavailable" selected, which does exactly as it says. I got all of my stuff set to that so I can just admin the round if I don't get the jobs I fancy that game.
