On one hand, I do not like that there are "Civvy's" on a highly secluded research station doing illegal research. On the other hand, I'm glad you can be an assistant without getting thrown out of a department now since Assistant is an actual job you can bug the HoP for.

Pretty much---or Chem+Tracker. I really don't understand why neither are used more (I can understand electropacks as someone else can remove them for you); they can only be removed with medical, and a chem implant with a little chloral and a crapton of sleeptoxin is going to keep someoned knocked out for a very long time. That and Poly acid really helps reinforce the "fuck up again and your done" mentality. But yea, there's no real reason to add these when there's already things in that allow this, but security always goes straight to the extreme when it comes to punishments. Chem implants and Trackers do exactly this, and electropacks also do this as well.

<Idea> Make it a bit harder to de-convert cultists
Earthdivine replied to belarion's topic in Suggestions
Well the cult was always meant to be viewed as basically possession by Nar'sie. You don't get a choice in the matter, you DO what it tells you to do. I'll point Fox and Mark to this thread once they're online. I think it was changed since you could just throw it out and never deal with it again, while with holy water the Chaplin is a threat for all states of the game until he dies. Also i believe the Null Rod also keeps the Chaplin from being converted in the first place, maybe extend that power to the other rune powers like Stun and Blind to give him more power. -
We used to have the RUST generator , which worked on uranium rods... however how should I put this, the idea was kinda lost in time, and probably ,if it's still in cargo, it won't work, it's just old code that no one cared about. WE COULD however recreate the RUST generators. I'm pretty sure we do have code for binary thermoelectric generators (what goon has), and I think I've tried to build one at some point. I'd honestly like to see RUST revived, or some kind of nuclear reactor. Nuclear reactors are cool, even fusion ones like RUST, which I'm pretty sure is a tokamak reactor Kluys or False managed to get the Thermo Generator running one round at full efficentcy, and Fox and Cian are the only ones who fully understand RUST from what I remember back when we had it in Cargo. I'm planning something with Thermo Generator though, so hopefully look forward to that. As soon as I stop losing my map progress....

<Idea> Make it a bit harder to de-convert cultists
Earthdivine replied to belarion's topic in Suggestions
This doesn't work anymore as far as I've witnessed, I've even managed to avoid getting deconverted by making the Chaplin hit me with the Null Rod and then got released under the guise of "seeing the light"....Captain dragged me back to security personally to deconvert me properly though The biggest problem with cults is they DO NOT utilize all their powers. It's very easy to get people without outing yourself but no one ever uses it. Grab some stun talismans and summon a ghost, have him run around and convert for you. Make an artificer and have the constructs distract and deal with security while you convert. Most cults get rid of the holy water and bible as fast as possible to avoid being deconverted. The openness of Holy Water is to combat that. Other then the Chaplin, the only other source is Chemistry, causing the cult to be killed upon sight if no one can make it -
I like the idea, can we also get other races to join in as well? Tarjans could go faster and IPC's wouldnt ever get tired, they would be perfect for this.

I love ittttt <3 It should also be able to max out the yeild of any botany plant that it's shot at too, it can lead to some problems depending on what they are growing. As for the Diona>Player, the current bug really shoots it down, but I don't see any reason why it cant work.

When it comes to mining drones we are waiting until the new mining hits before making this a thing, since drones would interfere with the collection incentives that /TG/ brings

Already have this, I believe it's Object tab to tear things out of you

Ahhh, nothing will be better then stories of pure incompetency, in my opinion. We have a Pathfinder game that has been going on for nearly 2 years now, the party is right at the doorstep, literally, of completing the campaign. One event sticks to my mind about my intrepid "heroes" is, the parties de facto leader, a Tiefling Magus and his trusty ally, a cat women barbarian, were out seeking supplies during a massive viral outbreak and needed to get potions of Cure Disease. They come across the potions shop to find it locked and the magus decides, not to use Knock or pick the lock, but rather, ram into the door to bust it down. He succeeds, and he topples inwards, causing all the potions in the shop to shatter and combine their magic essence, completely petrifying the shop and the adjacent buildings. The Magus goes on to claim he meant to do that entirely on purpose that the owner was an evil man and this is retribution. However, while he's trying to keep his armor from going to stone, the town guard shows up. At this time, the party is very not liked by the guard due to the de facto leader deciding to throw a fireball at the queen a few weeks ago. They begin to ask whats going on, not recognizing them due to disguises they are wearing. But then it really didn't matter, as the Magus Lightning bolts one guard nearly instantly and the other one is just taken back, giving the Magus enough time to Shocking Grasp him, cooking him from the inside out due to the full plate the guard wears. The Barbarian is just sitting there screaming, "WHY!" as the Magus begins to full on panic and drag the two bodies to the nearest building, which he then fireballs and lights on fire. He sits there proud of himself at covering his tracks so fully, and then the color drains from his face as he hears shouts of "THE ORPHANAGE! NO!" as denizens of the burg rush to save the place. The magus and barbarian got out of there at that point, but they are very not welcomed in that part of the town anymore. I got more, far more from this one campaign, but I'll leave them to Macto to post his side of them and let some posts crop up before making any more.

New to DnD, can I get tips? (4e)
Earthdivine replied to Hairy Ban Jhankri's topic in Other Entertainment
Following the Leader, not at all. There are 4 types of Classes in 4E, Controller, Leader, Striker and Protector. Leaders are team buffers and healers for the most part, you will see Bards, Warlords and Clerics in this role. Controllers I have already went into, Strikers are very self explanatory, they deal damage, they deal it fast and deal it lots. Protectors are usually Paladins and Fighters, who have special skills to redirect damage to themselves and some classes can even heal them too. As for the colors, that's the race. Their Psion is a Shardmind, a sentient piece of space rock -

Whee mechanics talk! I love mechanics talk!...I don't know why I do. +4 attack bonus is your roll to hit, so you would a roll a d20 and add 4 to hit. That 4 comes from your level (1) and your primary attribute for that attack, which looks to be a three. You will get more attack bonus through your allies or equipment and just plain leveling up. 1d6+3 is roughly 4-9 damage, which doesn't sound like a lot. The 3 comes from your attribute again, which as a Psion will more then likely be your INT. However, you are a CONTROLLER class, as the game puts it. You will never output as much damage as the others but you make up for that with debuffs, controlling the enemies actions, or straight up removing th from combat for a few rounds. As for increasing damage, that's done at levels 10 and 20 for all abilities, the only other way to do it is trough increasing your stats or through buffs from your allies. Concentrate on your attack bonus rather then damage, you want to be hitting the attacks rather then dealing damage, you can outlast enemies very easily in 4E, but enemy defense tends to get bloated later on. SHAMELESS PLUG! http://kisamayatsu.com/dad/Heroic%20(01-10)/ this is my favorite 4E podcast, they are all beginners to the game so it's easy to learn beside them as they go along, and they try to be more comedical then serious tones. They have a psionic player join them around episode 30-ish, hence the plug. Beware that I think a few episodes were curropted near there so it's very inconsistent, including losing the first episode. It begins to happen in the second run of the tower. -
I would loathe to see this again. Spider event already is an end rounder most of the time, back then it was a definite round end with Playable spiders. Player carps would, as many many people said, just go to arrivals and escape and vent the area, then continue deeper into the station to further vent it. Nurse Spider players would also wait until the NPC spiders had killed someone and then make dozens of baby's where no one would get to them. As fun as it is, players weren't treating it as a fun way to come back, but rather forcing it to be a game mode in and of itself. I would very much like more pets for ghosts to go in more then this honestly, Ghosts shouldn't have a such a big second chance to come back, particularly as Hostiles. EDIT: Plus it's a very very shitty feeling for, say, a group of cultists find all their words and get ready to start converting when the round ends because player carp went to every window and broke it. Why should the people who FINNALY roll antag status have to lose it because someone they killed earlier gets to decide to ruin the game. As for "rarity" of the events, I see them very often, I don't understand how they are a rare thing at all.

The reason for the builders is that there's multiple versions put out by Wizards of the Coast, each also discontinued being used and now their current one, which also sucks compared to their older one, requires a paid subscription to get into. I'm sure your DM would let you use anything not in them if you can point him to the source material for it. As for Absolute RP vs Combat, that will be tricky. 4E is designed with combat purely in mind. To keep it going fast and to make each action feel like it was useful. Keep this in mind when your playing and building, as you WILL be drawn into combat, that's how 4E was meant to be played. -
Pretty sure Emagged borgs actually doesn't appear on the Cyborg Console. They don't, they only show up if the traitor is using the AI to indirectly control the borgs I believe. As for Drone balance, I would honestly just prefer them losing the Plasma Cutter, even Engiborgs don't get something that powerful. Drones have their own problems when it comes to subverting them, the fact that you can only order them around when your with them is a big one and it's actually hard to find the guys when your not an Engineer. Every round I'm a traitor I buy an emag because I want an army of adorable little machines and I bearly can find them since they are usually repairing the station in areas you can't get to.

That looks too damn adorable. Also that's a fair representation of Cargo every round.

I guess I'm just not caught up on things like I thought I was. I don't see a problem with it then, gonna close this.

The issue has been that the bullets got lodged in and surgery is needed to remove them, along with them having the power behind them to break bones i believe. I didn't say to remove it fully, infact the opposite. I would find it very fitting if the detective had a special case specifically for his gun to rest in.
-
Would people be opposed if we switched the detectives revolver out with a stun revolver? We keep having to talk to detectives over "using their bullets" when trying to incapacitate people, due to the nature of how bullets are. We can move the revolver to the armory for Code Red purposes or keep a special case in the Detectives room for it, something akin to the medals box. Another option is just letting him spawn with both, but that kinda feels like a cop out to the issue.

Not even, customs officer essentially allowed a player to be an admin for 30kp. The power to decide, nope your not playing today, is something that should NOT be hands like that.
-
Roboticist shouldn't be doing be doing surgery, even on IPC's, theres nothing keeping Surgeons from getting the parts they need and doing it themselves outside of Medbay being busy. As for no Anesthesia, both you and the patient know they're going to die due to the brain removal, whats the point of doing that if they will just be dead, it will add extra steps for...ill be perfectly honest, very little extra RP.

Shamelessly bumping this because I can.

All right so I keep getting asked in the admin chat what is the deal between me, Tigercat, and chickens. So I'm going to be putting this here so you all can enjoy it as well. So one round, way way back when. I decided that I was going to be a dick, entirely to a single person. I didn't know who it was going to be at the time, but I spawned in as the QM, ordered an electric crate, made a pair of Stun gloves, collected the Chicken Suit, and went to the Head of Personnel line to find my victim. At the end of the line, in easy melee distance is Tigercat playing as Shadow, looking to get R&D access as an Assistant (Old name for Civilians). I run up behind her and stun her. As she's lying there twitching I go "BWWWAAKKK" and run off, leaving everyone just confused. From that point on, the moment I ran into Shadow, I would go: "The chicken's head snaps forward, eye's fixated on Shadow, before letting out a guttural BBBBBWWWAKK!" and run right at her and stun her once more. I must have done it at least 4 or 5 times before I ran into Shadow while she was at R&D, at which point she sat there and mocked me how she was finally safe. Oh she had no idea the lengths chickens go to get their prey. I walked back to Cargo and hacked the MULE, set the destination to Science and rode it all the way in. I sat in the shadow where the MULE drops the crate off and waited. Eventually Shadow comes out of the R&D room and I just walk out of the shadows, to which she begins screaming for help and attempts to run away from me, but to no avail. Security gets called and they come by very quickly. We have a very calming chat where I managed to convince them Tiger is insane and possibly needs to visit the Psychiatrist, much to her begging to keep the chicken away from. The security officer isn't even out of the department before I stun her again and get security called back in. This time the HoS comes in and is having none of it and arrests me. But I wasn't done. Oh no. He forgot to pull me, so when he went back to correct this, I looked at Shadow one last time, did my usual chicken /me, and ran right at her, and Gibbed myself upon hitting her. I think Shadow sat there for a good minute or so just repeating "chicken" every once in a while, as the HoS just sat there confused at what happened.
