Guys, the welding vision overlay means they'd have reduced sight range, as if they're wearing a welding mask. At least, thats how I read it. If it's actually welding protection, they've got too many perks, even for bay. I think they're cute I guess. Not sure about adding them to para, let alone replacing our fun cute dorf lizard bird pirates. They sound more like something you'd see in a gateway mission as a simple mob.

Get rid of Bags of Holding spawning singularities
HereticChurch replied to Cupcakes_n_Hacksaws's topic in Suggestions
I've been wanting this gone for a very long time but apparently the D&D reference is far too important to remove a literally round ending feature that commonly gets all the admins pissed off that anyone did it. -
I tend to run Thunderdome pretty much any time the ghosts get rowdy and numerous. Asking for it when I'm on tends to get it rolling faster. Just don't beg.

I like the idea for the gibberish speak when attempting to speak a language you don't know. Clearly people wouldn't be able to attempt to speak all languages (humans would never be able to attempt to speak trinary, bubblish, rootspeak, etc.), but it'd be great to see some Tajaran try to say thank you for the food in Sol Common, which results in him calling his human chef friend a piece of shit. The straight razor would be cool, but a bit too easy to call out traitors if they had it. It'd be a neat item to spawn in the barber shop though, as a general item. Something to shave facial hair, perhaps? And obviously could be used to kill people, if they want to do it Sweeney Todd style. Inb4 someone sets up a gibber in the barber shop and starts offering a combo of the best haircuts and best meatpies this side of Epsilon Eridani.

I play Slime People almost all the time, and while they're quite fun to use, I do wish they had some things changed about them. At the same time I don't really want them to become as ridiculous as they once were. For a 45 karma race, they don't seem to have changes as radical as the Vox, and their "downside" is easily subverted. As such, I propose these changes. I in no way want all of these changes implemented, I'm just throwing a bunch of ideas at the wall to see what sticks. - Make them not have bones to break. I don't quite understand why Slime People have bones to begin with. Perhaps making their limbs melt away to nothing once chopped off, or if they take enough damage, and making their limbs unique like robotic limbs. Organic robotics limbs, mechanically? I donno what I'm talking about. - Make them take more burn damage. Something like 15% or 20% more burn damage. - Make them not slip on their own 'blood'. It's probably the most annoying thing to die because you slipped on your own blood when running away. - Make them die from lack of nutrition, similar to the slimes. Perhaps past a threshold of 'blood' loss, they start taking toxin damage. - Re-add nude ventcrawling. As annoying as it was in the past, with the changes to ventcrawling making people take damage from pressure and not just an instant way to sneak into the captain's office at the round start... I think it would be far more balanced, if still annoying. - Make losing 'blood' make them lose nutrition. They don't take suffocation damage from lack of blood, so maybe make the stuff that comes out of them take nutrition from them, which would lead in well to the previous suggestion about them dying from lack of nutrition. - Enhance their unarmed combat. I've no idea how to go about that, but I remember they had a slight damage boost to unarmed due to being better at bludgeoning or something. Give them a martial art that makes them glomp and smash like regular slimes and potentially shock targets. - Move their slime core to their chest. I think it'd make more sense for their single organ to be in the center mass of their body. Not sure how viable this would be, and I'm not sure whether decapitation should still be lethal or not in this case. - Make them more susceptible to brain damage? Not sure how this would work. - Give them the ability to regenerate lost limbs with a special verb. I think this would be cool as fuck, though it would obviously need some extreme balance. Perhaps a large nutrition cost per regenerated limb, and it would take some time to do, uninterrupted of course. - Give them a minor regeneration ability for brute damage. Something about their membrane reforming or something. Burn damage wouldn't heal, obviously. - Clone damage resistance? Not sure how many sources of clone damage they can get, seeing as slimes don't tend to try and eat them and they can't be cloned, but it'd make sense with their malleable membrane. - Brain damage vulnerability? Their slime core must be quite vulnerable, so I'd assume it would take more damage than most other organs. Drugs that have negative effects on the brain would likely do more damage to a core as well. - Make slime jelly heal them a lot. A niche addition if anything. It'd be neat to get a nice healing chem that would heal really quickly and effectively. Perhaps like omnizine without an OD or give it the healing strength of Nanites. That's all I can think of for now. Pick and choose what you like. Toss in more ideas if you want. I just want slimes to be more fun.

I fucking love your work, so glad to see you still posting more. Especially love that picture with the detective, looks badass as hell.

I really like this idea. Paintballs could be interesting too, perhaps as an alternative to laser tag. I've noticed recently as NT Rep that when I get a new fax, it automatically pings you via the Headset. That's a function that we as admins set when we send a fax. We get the choice to ping your headset when replying.

I am so glad I read that as sax and not... you know Same thing.

Don't get your hopes up. Whirled's pretty much dead now. No administration and rampant hacking and code abuse has killed the playerbase. Hardly anyone plays anymore.
-
Gotta love when a thread gets absolutely and completely derailed. Charger in Blueshield office makes plenty of sense, but I donno about the NT Rep office. If an NT Rep needs to be using a charger in their office they're doing their job wrong.

Zolt is playful and fun and cute too, like most Slime People, that's just a badass picture of him.

Remove bruises from Cult members' rune-making
HereticChurch replied to Chicken12341's topic in Suggestions
I was wondering about the bruising and such recently actually. It would be nice if there could be some way to remove bruising/burn marks that last long after you've been treated. I can walk by a cigarette machine, have it launch a pack of smokes at my forehead, and through the rest of the shift I'll just have a stupid bruise on my head that I can't get rid of. -
This is fuckin' cool. I think these would be awesome, but its highly unlikely we'll be adding any new races soon. And something like this would likely be an event/gamemode/adminbus race. Top notch sprites as well.

Churchy doesn't have an exclusive job, really. She's rolled Blueshield a lot despite having the preference on low. I tend to play her in cargo, mining, as a Janitor occasionally, sometimes as roboticist or xenobiologist. I used to mostly play her as a Civilian but that got boring.

Intellicard AI's and pAI's: Hardsuit edition!
HereticChurch replied to Spacemanspark's topic in Suggestions
I was in love with this feature when I first read it. It'd be a cool feature to have, but I'd suggest that the pAI units would only be able to control the hardsuit while the wearer still has brain activity. Once the user dies, the pAI would lose control. Can't have any Y-17 incidents here. -
Fairly sure I'm pretty good at turning Tully on.

Reach the highest number without an admin posting

Too bad. -

It wouldn't be the worst thing to have a few welders and cable coils sitting around in medbay, for robotic limbs and IPCs. A whole medkit for IPC repair would be neat. Some cable coils, a welder, and a couple syringes of liquid solder and degreaser.

Someone looks out of place there.

I find it a bit odd that scientists can't print off a stun revolver and use it themselves, but a roboticist can make a phazon with an LMG and laser cannon and ride around firing them with no restrictions.
