Jacket does not stop you from suiciding with the command and there are plenty of ways you can cause work for medbay. If someone would use this just to waste the few seconds that it takes to throw the idiot with a mannitol pill, they really need to find new joys in life.

You could also punch yourself in the groin in maint tunnels if you wanted to cause medbay more work, that's even more work if you successfully fracture your ass with it. You need to speak to the wickerdoll to make it work so you get the tilde retardness too.

If you are bored, emag a comms console and use it with captain level ID to contact syndicate. It's enough of a hassle to do to make admins notice you and make you a homing beacon for hilarity. Ask for information about other traitors and their identities, help them out maybe? Ask for more objectives and prepare your anus for "kill captain, HoS and clown, steal their brains, steal HoS gun, steal captain's gun, steal clown's horn, eat 3 cakes and fax us a butt" kind of objectives.

I have never seen it being a problem really, even if all medic jobs are taken at join menu, you can go to HoP. HoP would be the guy to ask about intern roles anyways, they have access to command channel and can coordinate with the relevant department head to get someone to help you out on your "first day on the job". If that fails, take the job and mentorhelp away, the nerds will fight to death over the privilidge of telling their assorted medbay tip'n'tricks to anyone willing to listen.
