12:20

Spoke to Mike Murdock and Jada Cuddles about abandonment. Mike declined care.

12:20
Station went to blue alert.

12:24

Space-time anomalies appeared during a conversation with Jada Cuddles. She immediately darted into the nearest wormhole. Note to speak to her about unwarranted risk-taking.

12:31

Continuing conversation with Jada Cuddles. Le-seka was brought in, a vampire. Dead.

12:35

Warden Tetra Vega stopped by to check on my progress. I informed her things were fairly slow but was enjoying my conversation with the brig phys.

12:42

Eupharati Keeler arrived in custody of Zahiid Jafar. Former was damaged and had injuries to lungs. Suspected of being vampire. Confirmed of such. Glared at security staff. Jake Speed arrived, Warden present as well. Warden confirmed vampire. Sentenced to perma. Prisoner had been concerned about being killed. Was relieved that life would be spared.

12:50

Jassi Tassiman hacked into processing from maintenance due to imprisonment subroutines being on the fritz. Walked through to hallway without comment.

12:50

Captain makes an all-hands announcement regarding crab worship. Captain appears to be mildly unstable with delusions of grandeur, believing himself to be a pirate. Captains are notoriously hard to demote on Nanotrasen stations. Some manage to keep their positions long after their sanity has left them.

12:55

Euphrati Keeler is back, due to brig issues. She offers to help security. How exactly is unknown to me.

12:55

Admiral Delusions of Grandeur, aka the Head of Personnel, Konrad Schultz, is under arrest, suspected vampire. Definitely a vampire, and appears to be a highly powered one. Will be brigged. Is the station safe with a highly powered vampire in perma? I guess we will see.

12:59

Processing is far more busy now. Jada even needed to give up her chair. A Brendon Finkas came in and stated "I plead guilty to defending my god. Time for a chat.

13:11

I have spent the last 10 minutes speaking to Brandon. He has serious delusions and is obsessed with his God. One "Krab." We were speaking about his beliefs, including his desire to harm those who "sinned" against his God, when suddenly, a gray crab appeared in the security lobby, and Brandon, without warning, began punching himself, hurting himself severely. I indicated to the Brig Phys that we needed to restrain the individual. Jada successfully restrained the individual and he is currently resting in his cell, in a straightjacket. Thank goodness I brought two.

13:21

Brendon was released from the brig and the straightjacket. He said he needed time to think things over and appeared much calmer. I prescribed him Haloperidol to assist him.

13:23

Warden hears that the Captain has died. She appears troubled. Officer Detective Lisa Winslow says the Captain is fine.

13:24

A "trader," one Shemhamphorasch, was discovered with several rare and valuable items. Captain's hat, magistrate's gavel, Captain's bedsheet, a crown. He claims that all of these items are "replicas." They are as much replicas as I am a real doctor.

13:30

A clown, Mind Suck Honk, was apprehended, accused of being a vampire. This must be some mime clown, he hasn't spoken a single word in 5 minutes. I don't like clowns. Too unproductive.

14:00

The last half-hour has been a blur. The clown turned out to be a vampire after all. He escaped from security custody and very nearly escaped completely. Luckily the warden and officers darted after him and gave him a field execution.

14:00

I've thought a lot about why I do this, why I work in space. I spend a lot of time in command, I'm glad CC let me take this different assignment. I met some interesting people and got to listen for once, when all I tend to do is talk and act in command. Still, for everything, there is a season, and I think this season has come to an end.

Time to go home.

The best part of this, when I examined the Gavel block, it actually did say it was a replica. Forgot to check the other stuff. Trader was long gone by then.

I cant believe how much stuff I missed! It was so busy! I missed all the stuff about the Krab god. I just thought there was some vampire named Krab xD

That was such an awesome shift. Come be my brig psych (or phys) any day please. Loved. It.

And this is why RP roles are good if you know how to play them.

In general this is a perfect example of how RPing can make things interesting. All he did was sit in processing and outside jail cells talking to people the whole shift...and it was endlessly interesting. RP so boring though...right? ;)

One of my first rounds I was a psychiatrist, and I had a chance to do couplecounseling. It was hilarious. Nowadays I am also trying to cooperate with the warden to let me in to perma to tend to the prisoners. My more memorable shifts are also as a civilian or a librarian, and most often it had to do something with the chaplain...

We should make a HRP clan on the forums... Or a list of HRP characters or something...

Frankly. In space. The medical officer can strip the captain of their powers if they think they are mentally incompetent. I think with enough evidence it would be fun to allow the psych this kind of over arching power. In the sense that if they can provide enough evidence either from witness testimony or whatever, that they could take any crew member and place them in a Mental Competency hold until they submit to a mental review. I know as Psych I often update peoples medical profile just listening to coms. Not that anyone cares to check those records.

I can already see the LRPer referring to us as "The Herp"

And we can call them Derps.

@Malphystoh That reminds me of when I used to play coroner and I'd make these super thorough autopsies (I had a custom template for cause of death n all that) attached photo, and I'd get on the shuttle at the end of each shift with this clipboard full of autopsies nobody would ever see. It made me sad. Towards the end of that run I'd just start throwing the autopsies around the shuttle hoping someone would pick one up and appreciate it ??

Psychiatrist has so much potential when played right. I remember one round a long time ago where we caught and brigged a greytider. Though the greytider was a little insane and suicidal at first, the psychiatrist came in and talked with him for almost the rest of the shift about how the greytider had lost his girlfriend in a tragic accident back on Earth etc. They'd become besties by the end. It was a very heartwarming, wholesome shift :)

Someone else's also doing that. As a HoP I had him bring his autospies to me each time. He probably didn't know, but I did read them all. I also sorted them, and had them nicely put inside my cabinet.

Heart warming. Shame most sec / command is tooooooooo busy VALID hunting to care about the actual meat and potatoes of their crew.

Every time I've played security I've tried to work it out on the spot without the need for brigging anyone, and even took a few to see the psychiatrist. That doesn't mean I hadn't hit the clown a few times to get his attention though.... I swear people only play clowns so they can grief.

I will say, not all security reach for the harmbaton as a solution to everything.

I literally never harmbaton unless I have the intent to kill. Justifiably. Meaning against KOS antags and I'm out of ammo. I do not get the point of harmbatoning otherwise unless you are just a dick. On an opposite note, I hate when a prisoner is struggling to get out of a chair or cuffs and I stun baton them and they are like OUCH. ABUSE. I'M BEING ABUSED. Mechanically it does no damage at all, and even IC if you don't want me to zap you, stop trying to get out of your chair.

It was a bit of an exaggeration to say they'll go straight to harmbaton. I was aiming more towards the fact I try not to even bring legal action into the minor incidents if it can be solved on the spot. Stun baton for everything? no. Someone having minor contraband? If that was the worst they did I'll note they had it, warn them and take the contraband for disposal. No reason to go the full monty on them. (Lowsec) trespassing? If they needed something I'll escort them into the area and look for someone who DOES work there and see if they're willing to help.

I did joke with a guy about having a syndie soap bar... asked if he thought that would make him look like a bad boy to the ladies. Was it contraband? No.

In my mind that puts them into the category of the deranged and insane then and deserve psychiatric care, not more beatings... unless that's what it takes to keep them controlled and safe.

I might latch onto this since it tends to be the players who are like EWWW RP who make such a fuss. I'll be like "my god they are insane! They need help!" Straight jacket, roller bed, bring them to the psych. They'll be like wtf did I get myself into ??
