First of all Surgeons have access to the morgue. Second a paramedics job is to bring bodies (albeit dead or alive) to the medical bay not stuff them in the morgue, that's the medics job, you are supposed to save lives not watch them die then stuff them in the morgue. And I doubt botanists have access to the morgue. The only personnel that has access to the morgue are medics , roboticists , detectives and some heads.

Yes Qinetix, thank you, I'm very much aware of my responsibilities as Paramedic. However, medbay is often extremely chaotic, and as Paramedic I find myself taking:

A) Suicide corpses to medbay and it would be REALLY nice if I could just put them straight in the morgue.

B) Robotics Patients straight to the morgue

C) Security's Prisoners straight to the morgue

D) Changeling victims from genetics/robotics to the morgue

Edit: E) WHEN DOCTORS DRAG BODIES INTO THE MORGUE THEY LEAVE THE GODDAMN SUIT SENSORS ON

Also I often play a machine person, so I am usually immune to disease. So often I find that I am the only bastard left alive and when you're trying to control a disease outbreak and clone everybody, it's your responsibility to deal with the corpses everywhere.

Or people are too busy to deal with bodies. Or it's early in the day and there's nobody to take the bodies.

Also Botanists have morgue access because they used to be able to clone people. Before Diona were a thing, they had replica seed pods which could be used to clone someone either as a human or a potato man. Replica pods were changed to Diona seeds but their morgue access was never revoked.

I think that in real life a doctor would have to pronounce you dead. Medical records should be updated, even though they rarely are. There should, of course, be a place to put them that does not involve stacking them in the corridor.

Paramedics in the UK can now pronounce 'Life Extinct' which saves masses amounts of time at accident scenes where the police have a very dead and often 'disrupted' body (use your imagination) but were stood around waiting for the police surgeon to show up.

Now a paramedic turns up, pronounces life extinct and the police can begin the recovery process.

Yes, they are pronounced dead on scene to abandon resuscitation attempts, start wrap up and establish time of death. But they always pass a doctor on the way to the morgue.

Not in the UK, police escort the body to a Mortuary after a paramedic has pronounced life extinct and the officer along with the paramedic sign the tag.

A Doctor has no dealings with the body in the UK at all during the accident, transportation process or booking in procedure - not anymore atleast.

In an SS13 sense though, with their being numerous doctors about within an enclosed medical area I can sorta see the need for a doctor to update medical records ect.
