Nuclear Device and you: A guide to terrorism

To detonate the nuke, you need three things.

  • One Nuclear Fission Explosive

  • One Nuclear Authentication Disk

  • One Nuclear Authentication Code

To enable the the nuke for use, you need to deploy it and anchor it, this can be done via the Objects tab and click Make Deployable or right clicking the nuke and clicking Make Deployable, you then hit the nuke with an empty hand.

This here is the interface, and instead of starting top down I will start at the bottom.

The Numpad

The numpad got the standard numbers of 0-9, it is a 5 digit code, E to enter the code, R to reset the code, without the code you can't modify the device.

Anchor

When you open the interface it always starts Engaged, because you DID just engage it, as long as it is engaged, it can't be moved, you can toggle Anchor to move the nuke, even when the timer is counting down.

Safety

This is the important part, as long as this is on, the nuke can't explode, toggle it off so it can.

Timer and Time

Toggle the timer to begin the countdown, you can modify the time anywhere from 60 seconds to 600 seconds.

Hacking the nuke

To hack the nuke, the disk needs to be in, unscrew the lid, and you will see this.

You have 7 wires to cut, with 3 wires you can cut.

The device is still indicates that the nuke is not counting down, when it says The device is shaking! the nuke is counting down, if you cut this wire you will disable the nuke.

The device is whirring. indicated if the safety is off with The device is quiet. indicating it is on, now what is special about this wire... Well if you cut it when when the nuke is counting down, the nuke detonates instantly.

The lights are functional. When pulsed or cut turns into The lights are static. but when pulsed it is just temporary, so why even bother with this? Well the nuke got 2 lights, Green and Red, Green means it's safe, Red means it is counting down. Cutting this wire shows the light as green, remove the disk, un-anchor it, and nobody will know any better, so you can drag a nuke that is counting down around and who would ever guess....

  • EMERGENCY BOLT CUTTING PROCEDURE!!!!

Cut the anchoring bolts cover with a welding tool

Force open the anchoring bolt cover with the crowbar

Cut apart the anchoring system's sealing with the welding tool.

    Unwrench the anchoring bolts

Crowbar the nuclear device and lift it of it's anchor.

DRAG THE NUKE INTO ANOTHER Z-LEVEL WITH A JETPACK, OR A SHUTTLE AND DIE AS A TRUE HERO!

Wish you could actually make it start the countdown tough via hacking. Wish you also didn't need the fukken disk in to hack it open to defuse it. Nuke ops can just take the fukken disk on their ship and fuck off with it.

Does he mean when you place the C4 it deletes the nuke or when you set it off?

If it's the first one it very much is broken.

What other reason would you have for putting C4 on the nuke other than blowing the C4?

Considering how c4 actually works, it deletes the object and sets of a small explosion, that should tbh be smaller...

But yeah, if you have c4/plastic explosives, you can use that, sounds kinda silly that something like that would work...

I don't think it's SILLY, since bomb techs do actually blow up explosives IRL if they can't be defused normally. This doesn't mean you SHOULD be able to blow up the nuke without repercussions, but there's precedent for it.

Rads. Lots of em.

Although.... Even if NT isn't one for safety, looking at all the acidents over the years: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ ... _accidents

-it isn't too big of a streach to say that there would be little to no radiactive contamination.
