Basically, I am suggesting Karma unlocks for Antags. If you are selected as antag for the round and have an upgrade unlocked you can then choose the upgrade or stay basic. The idea behind this is to make 'antags' who are actually advanced antag or protag.

Changelings would become Doppelgangers and Lycanthropes

Wizards would become Sorcerers

Blob would become Parasite and Symbiote

Modified Changelings would have stings removed but more specialized abilities will replace it. Doppelgangers would focus on rapid transformations with similar goals as regular changelings. No longer limited by time delays in transformations. Absorption is slightly slower but transformations would come with clothing.

Doppelgangers are riskier than normal, as their clothes are part of their body. If anyone tries to strip or search them, instead of taking clothes off, they will just tug at camouflaged skin.

Lycanthropes would also have stings removed, instead they would be able to transform parts of their body through focused modification. Transformation is painful and will cause them to scream. They can modify parts of their body to fulfil many functions, and once unlocked can be applied.

Sorcerors

Sorcerors would do away with delay with spells, instead, they are memorized by carving the runes into their body, which fade upon casting. Sorcerors learn powers by performing sacrifices with ritual knives. They can learn ALL spells a wizard can learn, but is limited by how many carvings they have on them. one per body part.

Blob Parasite and Symbiotes

A Blob Parasite is very similar to a symbiote in that, instead of being destructive to the station, they meld with and replace metal, windows, floors, and do not impede upon anything. The significant difference is their feeding method, and their overall goals..A symbiotic blob can not coexist on the same station as a parasitic blob.

A symbiotic blob feeds on and scrubs toxic elements from the atmosphere and breaks down small objects. A symbiotic blob has no winning conditions, save for existing until the round ends- They have goals, but their death, or goal accomplishments will not trigger a round end. Once a symbiotic blob is chosen, traitors or changelings are selected at random.

Parasitic blobs are basically an evolution from regular blob. The goal of a parasitic blob is to absorb a set number of people and take over a set number of APCs. Parasitic blobs would take power from power cells and absorbing

These are just a few concepts I've been toying with and is certainly not the limit of what COULD be done with this method.

Or you could just replace blob with cortical borer if karma purchased

That makes absolutely no sense, two extremely different antags

Exactly. Directive 7-10 would be so totally varied it would be brilliant

Borer infects other players, blob infects you and gibs you when it's ready to pop. You can't play your own borer. Borer also has only one goal, survive.

A custom karma only cortical borer could be a computer virus. shunting from APC to APC, able to travel only along cable coils, viewing the cables almost exclusively, unable to see much else except for electronics.

Its' goal would be to subvert APCs and finally, hack the AI itself to replace it. If players kill or card the AI the virus can take over unhindered.. Only AI , borgs, and people with multitools modifying the APC the virus is actively in at the time can quarantine and neutralize it.
