Okay, this guide is not written, this thread exist only as a way to remind me to write this later.

THINGS THAT WILL BE INCLUDED, What can you do with the stuff you find, what can the stuff do, and a antags and you a guide to antag xenoarcheology.

First up is what is known as the cloning lab, and what do we do here? Well we drag fossils there

dc2fced923.png

There are five types of fossils, bones at bottom left, skull at bottom right, horned skull at middle right, plant middle left, and a shell top right. Now what can you do, well you can build an awesome alien skeleton.

Or you can use the two machines on top, we have a Fauna and Flora reconstitution console, Fauna is animals, so you can stick shells, bones, skulls and horned skulls in there. Fauna is plant life, so you stick the plant fossils in that machine. So what can you make from this?

On the Flora side you can find:

pack of telriis seeds, now this is a useless plant, it contains nutriment and a reagent called pwine that does not exist, so grinding it gives you nothing, a waste of time to grow.

pack of thaa'dra seeds is far more useless, when grown, harvested and grinded you get nutriment and frostoil.

pack of jurl'mah seeds can be usefull all depending, when grown, harvested and grinded you get nutriment and serotrotium, a chemical you consume to loose weight.

pack of amauri seeds is literally striking gold for an antag, when grown, harvested and grinded, you get zombie powder you can refill your sleepy pen with, and condensed capsaicin, or mace/teargass depending on how you use it.

pack of gelthi seeds are also kinda good, when planted harvested and grinded gives nutriment (ofc), sleeping toxin and capsaicin.

pack of vale seeds is very usefull cause it contains dexalin and paracetamol, omnomnom.

pack of surik seeds is another healing plant with synaptizine and impedrezene.

Now, that was the boring side, what about the Faun? What can you find there.

Well, on the Fauna side you can find:

a samak (hostile) A fast, armoured predator accustomed to hiding and ambushing in cold terrain.

a diyaab (hostile) A small pack animal. Although omnivorous, it will hunt meat on occasion.

f7f65e7752.png

a shantak (hostile) A piglike creature with a bright iridiscent mane that sparkles as though lit by an inner light. Don't be fooled by its beauty though.

0d2da59735.png

a yithian (friendly) A friendly creature vaguely resembling an oversized snail without a shell.

5481be2954.png

a tindalos (friendly) It looks like a large, flightless grasshopper.

For hunting for small artifacts such as cultblade, you can find the guide here

viewtopic.php?f=15&t=161

To answer the question, if you pick further than you're supposed to, no matter the pick size, you can break the artifact.

And for the larger artifacts (crystal, ninja crate, etc), it is a much simpler process.

You need the hand pick, Alden-Sparasova counter, depth analysis scanner, and regular pickaxe.

Step outside with your tools, use the Alden counter to get a background radiation reading. An example is it may give a reading of 130m. You then proceed in any direction, and use the counter again. If the number increases, change direction. If the number decreases, continue in that direction. Once you reach 3m or so, switch to the depth analysis counter and scan the rocks near you. If the scanner pings, chances are it's your artifact. Use the hand pick on the tile, clearing out small rocks along the way, until you reach Rocky Debris. Pick it a few more times, and drag your artifact out of where the debris was. Enjoy your useless crystal (as is a common find)!

The wiki is also here if you need information.
