Brief description (tl;dr here. Just the critical elements): Blob spawned, quickly took over station, command sent an ERT Request with just the word 'blobs' apparently, CC responded by punishing crew

Full description of events:A random blob event started, and quickly took over the station. Apparently people thought the tesla was loose rather quickly afterwards as well. In response, CC sent as follows.

"We've gotten a message from Command regarding a level 5 biohazard eating the station. We've taking a quick look at the recordings and... The response is very lackluster. Whether the tesla is loose or not, you are denied a shuttle until you get off your lazy butts and stop that slime mold from taking over the station. With a kind "or else" added to it."

Additionally, when the request for an ERT was sent, it was supposedly merely sent with just the word 'Blobs' causing CC to punish the crew by removing all consoles to lavaland. Additionally, no ERT team was assembled until a few minutes later at the very least (I was not keeping track of time), by which time it was far too late for an ERT to have an effective response other than nuking. 

In essence, The crew panicked at the call of a Tesloose (understandable in any situation), and did not muster up a fight to the blob. The blob took over the station with plasma fires to science and the like. An ERT request was denied and all crew were punished by having no way out (there are more than a few people who don't like combat and are here just for the RP, and any hope of getting more materials from mining was completely shut off.)

ERT requests are at the discretion of game admins, that factor in both the IC reasons for the call and OOC ideas of what will make the round more enjoyable for everyone.

 

Whether the crew wins or the blob wins is of no concern to the admins. I'm convinced the admins here did what they believed was best for the round and server. How many people sign up to an ERT and when it is deployed is outside of their control, sadly.

This can be considered resolved.
