Say I have a lockbox with a plasma pistol in it. It is locked. With this feature I would be able to deconstruct it for the full value of the plasma pistol inside.

 

There is one flaw I can see with this. It is that if someone unlocks it and takes it out, it could be exploited for double the normal points. To this, a fix could be applied, where the item has to be in the lockbox for it to be deconstructable. Say, if item is taken out, the item changes and is no longer deconstructable.

Seems like a good suggestion to me.

 

I would not overcomplicate things and code it so that only lockboxes that haven't been opened yet and only contain one item will be denconstructable. Search for the containing item and try to deconstruct it and delete the lockbox + the containing item.
