Reason/Backstory:

About a month or two ago, it was decided that the name "Skitters" would be banned from usage by Vox and Nians due to another player using the Skitters name as a Vox. This player apparently had refused to consistently stop using the name Skitters and still continued to refer to themselves as Skitters after admin intervention. This then led to me having to explain to Qwerty (in-game) the origin of Skitters' name, which I feet like I did a poor job of at the time. This is my attempt at a second chance.

About a year ago when I started to play on Paradise, I played as a Nian named Skitters where I was told by an admin to change it to a more Nian appropriate name, which I complied and I decided on Skitters the Nebulae which fit the job followed by the place of origin format. I stuck with this and came up with the story of Skitters the Nebulae being a sort of scavenger or explorer of his home system. I then played on for months without any complaints from any admins. Relatively recently, I took inspiration from another Nian player of the name format "Name, Job of Place" and landed on Skitters, Navigator of Auroras-Nexus III. The Navigator part came from his original backstory of being an explorer and the necessity of needing to navigate space to not die. With this name, Skitters became his first name as I loved the name, and was already recognizable and wanted to keep the relationships I had formed in-game.

Around the middle or the end of August, a player I have previously interacted with as Skitters started playing as a vox who had started using the name "Skitters". While there is nothing inherently wrong with name-taking or taking inspiration, it was annoying that the name was being used with a species in which it would not be lore accurate. I feel that the blanket name ban is a bit excessive, especially since I have had the name for so long and was only brought into the spotlight due to another player's actions and said player not heeding what the admins had told them to do. For instance, referring to themselves as Skitters even after an admin renamed them.

While I have enjoyed playing as one or two other Nians, Skitters will always be my favorite as it is my first and most played and it's hard to imagine Skitters any different than he is, at least to me. Thank you for your time.

Hi there. While you'll to wait for an headmin for a proper response, I thought it might help to know that the player in question was spoken to again about this, and is no longer allowed to use 'skitters' in any context.

We are fine with skitters used in a nian name, just not as the first word of the name, due to the issues with other players. I am aware having to change the name because of others actions sucks, it is a one bad apple spoils the bunch situation, but the head consensus is it can not be the first name. If you can work it into the second half of the name that is fine, using it as a verb, just not as a noun.

Hi, thank you for the response. As you can probably imagine, I'm put down by the ruling, although I still would like to keep Skitters in the name. Would it be allowed to have it as a nickname in something like:
