Originally designed as a high-precision surgical unit, MURA-128 combines mechanical accuracy with a human-like demeanor, bridging the gap between traditional robotic and human medical personnel. Initially programmed with multiple surgical specialties, MURA-128 has functioned in high-stakes medical environments since activation.

Following significant contributions in New Canaan General’s critical care department, MURA-128 joined Nanotrasen’s NCB Morning Star as a trauma surgeon, quickly advancing to Chief Medical Officer. This role granted MURA-128 critical operational experience in a multi-species setting, ultimately leading to their current position at the NSS Cyberiad in the Epsilon Eridani system. Here, they continue to refine advanced medical practices, while also exploring personal research initiatives.

The Medical Utility Response Android Model #0000128, known by their shortened designation of MURA-128, is a rare sight for one to see outside of New Canaan, as one of the few pre-mass production IPC units still in active duty, or active at all for that matter. Created by the original team of scientists developing IPCs and later fitted with a Bishop Cybernetics chassis, MURA-128 and their model was originally intended as a top of the line surgical IPC, meant to bridge the gap between non-humanoid medical cyborgs and human doctors, combining machine like precision and efficiency with a humanistic demeanour. As such, their initial programming was loaded with a multiple of surgical specialties, allowing them to scrub in and even take the lead for a wide spread of departments surgical procedures.

Following the independence brokered between the revolutionary representatives and Nanotrasen, and resulting rapid colonization, industrialization, and urbanization of New Canaan, MURA-128 became one of the first IPCs enrolled in the newly formed New Canaan Institute of Science and Technology, with the intention of rounded out their body of knowledge to supplement their surgical programming, in addition to receiving an official certification for their pre-programmed medical skills. Upon completing both a bachelors and masters in both pharmaceutical chemistry and virology/immunology, they soon after sought employment in the nanotrasen backed New Canaan General hospital, an institute primarily established to cater towards organic NT employees living on the planet

During their time at New Canaan General, they rapidly rose through the ranks, becoming the head of trauma for the medical centres critical care department. It was this rapid career development and position of leadership that had initially intrigued Nanotrasen recruiters, who quickly offered them a contract as a trauma surgeon at the Nanotrasen Commerce Base Morning Star, located on [come up with planet name later]. With more interest in practising medicine than the political and delagating that comes from their original goal, a seat on the New Canaan Academics Guild, they very quickly took the offer

With their stationing on the NCB Morning star, they were one of six IPC staff in the personnel, and of the six the only one that had extensive social dealings with organics prior to hiring. This, combined with their skills put them on that same fast track they were on at New Canaan General, first re-aquiring their role as head of trauma surgery, then pushing past first to chief of surgery, and finally being appointed to the position of Chief Medical Officer for the NCB Morning Star, a significantly higher rank than they even expected to attain, especially within this time-frame. With said promotion came three things: Higher salary, higher prestige, and most importantly, higher clearance. And this higher clearance was what led them to their current position in Epsilon Eridani.

During a board meeting between the heads of staff at the Morning Star and their local CentComm installation, they were all given the offer of a cutting edge position, employment in the hotly contested Epsilon Eridani system primarily aboard the NSS Cyberiad giving them not only the opportunity to be a part of the cutting edge of scientific discovery, but a chance to further their own personal research projects should they choose. Of the staff, MURA-128 was the only one that took them up on the offer, and following the selection of their successor at the Morning Star, they were shipped out to the EE sector, where they have been employed and living in since

While no formal charges are recorded, MURA-128 voluntarily disclosed at the time of hiring that, prior to IPC independence, they had received multiple reprimands that would otherwise have resulted in formal charges. Specifically, the unit reported two instances of “Disturbing the Peace” in relation to participation in synthetic rights rallies. Given the diplomatic relationship between Nanotrasen and New Canaan, as well as the time elapsed since these incidents, it was assessed that this background would not pose a significant concern.
