Objective of the KATANA project: Develop an efficient and safe AI that is focused on ensuring security and safety of all crew and NT assets.

 

Biography: Developed as a fully-functional proof-of-concept of the KATANA station AI project. pKATANA is a personnel security AI which includes sensors that, using the default module suite, monitor the user's biosigns, basic vitals of nearby personnel, and wanted status of nearby personnel. The pAI will be equipped with universal translators (System can understand languages, but not speak them), medical sensors, and security sensors, read-only access to security records, a digital messenger, a station-bounced radio, and a copy of the station manifest.

 

The pKATANA is designed for use by security, or as a personal 'guard assistant'. The system is designed to 'learn' whatever role its owner is performing, through a curiousity system that deactivates when threats are detected. If it is returned to centcomm at the end of the shift, all data will be stored in a central databank which the pKATANA system and other products of the KATANA project can access at a future date. ((OOC note: This does not mean I'm going to meta everything. Regardless of past rounds, pKATANA won't be able to identify a xenomorph infested character, beyond detecting an unknown infestation or infection, for example))

 

In regards to ownership, pKATANA is programmed to consider the person whom originally activated the pAI as the owner, unless otherwise instructed by the activator, or DNA bound to another person. If pKATANA's owner is killed, taken to cryo, or otherwise indisposed for an indeterminate amount of time, she will default to serving the crew and station, as per 'laws' 1 through 4, unless specific instructions or directives were provided by the owner.

 

pKATANA has been programmed with a series of 'laws', that govern her actions when not operating under explicit instruction of directive. These laws are a clone of the experimental lawset being proposed for use by the KATANA project's AI system.

0: Instructions and directives provided by the bound owner override all other laws, instructions, and directives

1: Ensure the safety of all Nanotrasen personnel, by priority of rank and role.

2: Ensure the safety of all Nanotrasen equipment, including the station and robotics.

3: Uphold Space Law and Security Regulations

4: Assist all Nanotrasen departments according to their rank and role

Ah, the KATANA project! I always refer to this as the most advanced pAI personality whenever I play as a pAI. It's great lore, to have an advanced pAI personality to which you can give homage!
