Detective Seclite

Pretty much what it says on the tin.

I've come to agree with the changes to the Detective's access level and item distribution, but I still fail to understand why shouldn't be given what is, in essence, a flashlight.

Yes, I understand that it's a flashlight that can easily bash someone's skull in, but with the recent lighting changes, giving the Detective a Seclite would be incredibly useful. PDAs are barely worth using as lamps nowadays.

I agree.

A forensic technician without a powerful flashlight for his investigations is a joke.

Anyway, seclite is comparable in power to a telebaton - plus, the revolver is a powerful validhunting weapon which can help you put people to crit if you unload all the bullets, so the argument for robustness seems invalid.

Alternatively, give the detective a standard flashlight.

As far as I'm aware, SecHUDs were removed from the Detective's arsenal because SOME PEOPLE couldn't keep themselves from being detectivecurity. And shit detectivecurity at that.

From an RP perspective, I agree, though. Forces you to keep aware of everyone that's wanted rather than having a shining red icon over their heads. That's for the plebs in the red shirts.

I am more than fine with not having to arrest and beat people up as the Detective, honestly I'm under-equipped and not qualified for that, it's not my job. Honestly I'm glad that if the HoS demands I arrest someone who's not an active threat and I bring him to the brig I get to make his ass/the warden handle processing because I don't get access.

Though I like doing interrogation alright, I seem to be the only one who actually uses the damned tape recorder.

Hehe, not yet, waiting for a good chance to. Did have a time where some guy kept trying to unbuckle cuff themselves from the shuttle demanding to get cake, and I kept tele-batonning them to stun them, and counted how many -totally legit- counts of resisting arrest they were accruing. It hit the 30s.

Just to note- You can only be charged with resisting arrest once per arrest, so unless you arrested him 30 times you're probably oversentencing.

I'm aware, hence the totally legit in emphasis for sarcasm.
