Hmm, if sec would start with a better powercells in their seclites then i'll give a +1

I think simply allowing basic batteries in common flashlights would be a good balance measure, just as how a handmade stunprod will always be inferior compared to a real baton.

Certain job-related flashlights (security lights, engineer helmets, mining hardsuit lights) need to be worth having in the first place, after all.

Security flashlight could be mounted on energy gun and taser, which is useful.

Engineer hardhat free up pockets and provide some melee protection.

There are already some reasons to value them. So there is no need in battery restriction. But these flashlights could have better battery initially while ordinary blue flashlight have a very basic power cell.

However it would be fun to add some new sense to word "robust" in seclite description and allow to use seclite as improvised melee weapon. Its a tactical flashlight after all.

While hardhat light would be brighter or recharge over time(or maybe you could charge it by inbuilt dynamo generator)

@ farya speaking of dynamo, why don't we have a hand crack dynamo generator :D?

Good idea. Would be nice to have a craftable one. But output would be slow so you would need to make an affort to charge even basic cell. Charging bluespace cell this way would be impossible. You would try, but that will be VERY long time xD.

Na it's call we train a party of monkeys to do it then we will have free power even in the most dire of stuff :3

EDIT IN Why don't we add in hand crack dynamos for flashlights?!?! that will make it run off power but then you can charge it on the run if you have to and IT even can power a APC for a short time if you swap out the power cells and use the hand crack dynamos flashlights to recharge the power cell :0
