Staff seeing who created this topic might scratch their heads - "didn't we permaban that guy?"

Yep, you did. For releasing the singularity.

But before you did, this was the first server that sounded appealing to me after seeing the list for the first time. I joined with little to no knowledge of the game, but determined and ambitious. Which led to me administering first aid by hitting someone with a medkit repeatedly or changing my radio frequency and playing the entire round without comms. And the server beared with me.

Here I've met great teachers and also some great friends. Under three days, I've mastered surgery, learned chemistry, got into engineering and got completely addicted to this game, all thanks to them. Just no one taught me how destructive the singuloth is when freed, heh. Everybody but few old engineers was so considerate and... okay.

After the ban, I asked people from the server for similar ones and got directed to places where I've been playing to this day without incident. And ready for everything, thanks to the great start Paradise was.

So I just wanted to thank everyone for getting me into this wonderful clusterfuck of a game SS13 is, and perhaps apologize again for that singularity. That was my first week in the game and pure ignorance.

This is in no way a sneaky ban appeal. Just a "thank you" in the form of a late introduction, because I don't think it belongs in General.

Being banned for releasing the Singularity was probably because it looked like grief.

Having this a bit rewritten as an appeal would get you unbanned really quickly, as we only really perma those who we deem unfit for our community

This includes people whom may seem to be obviously griefing.

We're very easy on permabans here compared to other servers, but we also accept a lot more appeals, the reason is that we feel it is much more of a learning experience to reread the rules. This is to show that you've understood what you did, so that you won't just wait 3 days to log back on and do it again

I'm not applying because it was grief. I just didn't realize back then how serious it was.

EDIT: Getting unbanned when my intentions really were to cause chaos just wouldn't feel right. It's different when you do something because you haven't read the rules, and when you don't get the scope of damage, eh?

As Regen said, had this been an appeal, you would've most likely been unbanned very quickly.

We all make stupid mistakes. No one can look back at their life and truthfully say they never once fucked up. However, what differentiates the men from the boys, so to speak, is the capacity to stand up and admit "I dun fucked".

You show a level of self-realization that most people that go through the appeal process do not. You show that not only did you realize you screwed up, but are ready to take the permanent consequences for it. It takes a lot for someone to do it.

Just remember we're always open if you want to make a legitimate appeal. Paradise welcomes everyone who's willing to play by its rules, and the more people, the merrier.

A good day to you, sir and/or madam.
