I'm pretty sure that brig timers are a subset of status displays, rather than consoles. This means that they can maybe be destroyed, but not disassembled or moved. What if you re-did the brig timers to be a subset of computer consoles? You could print brig timer boards at a circuit printer, assemble new brig timer consoles, disassemble existing brig timers, or even multitool the brig timer boards to unlock a hidden feature.
