Okay your off to set up the singularity.

Required items

Hardsuit and helmet

Magboots

Optical Meson Scanners

Cables

Screwdriver

Wrench

There are several things you will need to set up and it doesn't really matter which order you set them up in but this is the order i usually follow/

Setting up the Particle Accelerator

First off you will want to go into the PA (particle accelerator) room and use your wrench to secure every piece of the PA to the floor, including the computer. Next you will need to place cables in each and then use your screwdriver to close each of the panels. Go to the computer and run scan to make sure all parts are working.

Radiation Collectors

Next you will need to open secure storage. Get either the CE or the AI to open it, the button is in the CE office. Go to the tank dispenser beside secure storage and dispense 5 plasma tanks and get the 6th beside the radiation collectors. Get the plasma canister from secure storage and turn its output level to max. Now you need to be careful here, place the tank inside the canister and open the valve until it fills, close the valve and remove the tank and put in a new one and repeat the process until all the tanks are full. BE SURE NOT TO OPEN THE VALVE WHEN THERE IS NO TANK INSIDE OR ELSE IT WILL LEAK PLASMA. Put a plasma tank into each of the radiation collectors and turn them on and lock them with your id if you want.

Setting up the field

Next get your hard suit on, you are going outside. Make sure you have an oxygen tank and a mask and have them turned on. Toggle your magboots and enter the airlock. Activate the cycle. When you get outside you are going to need to turn on each of the emitters located at the corners, be sure not to walk in front of the laser it will do quite a lot of damage to you. Turn on the shield generators as well and the emitters will power this, be sure not to walk into the field when it is up as you may die.

Creating a singularity

When the field is fully up go back inside and into the PA room. Assuming it is set up right and there are no parts missing it will give you the option to turn on the PA and to set the power. Turn it on and set power to 2. Be sure to be wearing the meson scanners or you may go blind looking into the sing.

Setting up the SMES's

While you wait you can go over to the SMES's and set them up. To do this turn charging to auto turn input level to max and output to 150,000. It should only take 2 SMES's to power the station so you can have them all set up the same but on one of them turn output off so it just charges but doesnt output, this can be the backup if you run out of juice.

Finishing off the singularity

Go back into the PA room and the singularity should be in its 3rd stage (pink colour) or in 2nd stage (red) and about to enter 3rd. Once its pink turn the PA power to 0 but leave the power on. The singularity is now set up and it should begin to charge the SMES's. Leave the PA room and close the blast doors and leave it as it is. Check on it every now and then to make sure its okay. Thats all there is to it if you followed the steps correctly then you should be powering the station and not have the rest of the crew yelling at you to get the power online

Great guide.

I'm a bit confused with the new Singularity sprite model, though. I can't tell when it's the right size. Any advice?

What you can do is actually set the PA to 2, light it off, and wait for it to be mobile inside containment, which is usually enough time for you to stow the plasma canister and set the SMESes. After that, just flip the PA back to 0, and the singularity will be stablized at stage three, dipping back into 2 occasionally.
