A cursed katana is a very strong weapon, that needs to be handled with care.
The Dark Shard
Dark shard is what the katana comes out of. It can be implanted into your arm by using it. The arm it end up inside of depends of the hand you used it in.
If situation calls for it, the shard can be removed as any other arm implant.
The shard can be left by tendrils, bought by Wizard or found in other places
