In the early days of NanoTransen presence in this system, the situation was far from pristine. The rush for the system, along with a general inexperience, caused many tragedies and accidents. The White Ship - otherwise known as the Medical Frigate and now the Abandoned Ship - was transporting a medical ERT to a former station when it came under attack from the Syndicate, tearing off the berthing-propellant and engineering 'tail'. The Syndicate moved off, letting it drift. Most of its crew died onboard, some fled through space itself, leaving some items behind.
It's still out there, drifting around and now relatively close to SS13 itself. Some bored engineers at CentCom have deducted that, if power was restored, it could move itself under it's own power again.
