"Greytide" or "Greyshirts" is a term used to describe male humans, bald, with black eyes, and the appearance of a 30 year old.

This appearance is a result of substandard cloning and restorative services, and can often lead to mental instability, problems with hand-eye co-ordination, broken speech patterns, and an attraction to toolboxes. They usually - but not exclusively - have the role of an assistant, hence the name "greyshirt", due to the old default jumpsuit of them. Non-assistant greyshirts are to be watched closely, as their increased access and responsibility can cause damage by negligence or malice.

They are often a great cause of trouble, but this is not exclusively the case. They may be well intentioned if a little slow, and can quickly learn and become a valuable crew member. A large group of them is often known as the "greytide", and will seek to harass others (often attacking them with toolboxes), breaking into locations, and shouting obscenities.

NanoTrasen strongly denies any rumours that they have cheap cloning facilities where they greyshirts are used for labour. These are unfounded.

OOC:

The appearance here is the default character. People with this appearance generally haven't set up their character because they are brand new to the game, or just don't care. Many griefers have this appearance, but not exclusively at all. Some people are just newbies, so don't treat them all badly!

Greytiding isn't something to be proud of- intentionally coming close to breaking the rules and pretending to be a new player to earn the benefit of the doubt isn't something you should be doing; it might earn you a ban if you keep it up long enough.
