Nanotrasen started out as a small company, whose research was mostly based around gene-therapy in the heart of human space, Mars. This was shortly prior to the series of scandals over cloning being reserved to the rich rather than being provided to industrialist fodder in the most prosperous part of Sol - Nanotrasen was effective at patenting methods that lead to more cost effective coverage plans for business use, primarily through aggressive business tactics than personal research brilliance. Nanotrasen mainly grew by a collective of shark like individuals that persisted with their shrewd business tactics. By the end of the decade, Nanotrasen became a trans-stellar entity.

At the end point of the 22nd Century, Plasma was discovered. Nanotrasen and its competitors were, naturally, the foremost corporations in attempting to exploit this valuable new resource, and they all set up numerous stations and factories around the Plasma Giants in order to exploit the resource. This only jump-started the economy, and the so-called Orange Rush began, with all of the corporations attempting to find as many uses of the valuable Plasma as possible in order to profit the most from the human governments. Aptly named the orange rush given the large quantities of Plasma founded on Mars. Research facilities, stations, ships and other installations were being manufactured faster than ever. Nanotrasen was one of the more bloodthirsty corporations, and managed to bankrupt and absorb many other companies on a larger scale then ever before. Many feel Nanotrasen's only defining ability is in capitalizing upon other's hard work- And not an entirely untrue assumption. Nonetheless, this only further increased Nanotrasen's power and scope, ratcheting it up to the status of a true super-corporation, eventually becoming the most expansive business empire in the galaxy.

<onlyinclude>Nanotrasen is the largest corporation in the galaxy, its power rivaling most governments. It deals in research of the most advanced sciences, such as genetics, blue space, and - recently - the uses of plasma. They also have a sizeable asset protection and security branch with which they secure both investments and occasionally new acquisitions - a distressing rival to some governments, and a powerful administrative branch sitting atop it all, directing their company's actions. </onlyinclude>

Nanotrasen is characterized by its aggression and questionable ethics, which, combined with the high emphasis they put on new, untested and dangerous technology, means their installations are often considered unsafe and hazardous.

Emerging from the corruption of the Trans-Solar Federation and its ambitious interests in the galactic markets, Nanotrasen stands as one of the most powerful human enterprises. Its roots trace back centuries before space colonization on Earth. Founded by Johnathan N. Nexus, the megacorporation is a focal point of galactic talk, especially among humans. Its role as a de facto governing body and rumors of TSF corruption are controversial. As a corptocracy controlled by an executive board, Nanotrasen offers careers and financial benefits, while promoting its commitment to enhancing lives through innovative technologies.

To a degree few of its competitors could achieve, Nanotrasen owes its success to diversity and quick reactions to unfolding events aboard its starships. Worth a distinct laugh to employees who are told of this, Nanotrasen's fluidity and aggression tactics are still considered the core of its success.
Summary
While most facilities get their personnel already prepared for specific roles, among the stars situation often changes quickly and drastically - far faster than a flight of a shuttle from the nearest Nanotrasen's station takes - and so the choice of assignments is up to the commanding officers (especially - Head of Personnel) depending on the most urgent needs at the moment. Nanotrasen hires almost anyone possessing a skill in areas such as science, medicine or space-engineering and every contracted worker after passing a couple of basic tests can hope for a good pay in space, especially if sent to an important installation.

Nanotrasen's hiring process is often flimsy in sorting out industrial spies, as a result of this simple hiring process, often instead keeping orders on high to make the best of having even rival talent or tattlers on payroll - a reality in the modern day - using the best of loopholes to ensure from an entry level position, it would be impossible, although sorely testing, to find the launch for a lawsuit or get away with real assets. Often experts skilled in almost any area areas such as detective work, cooking or sanitation also find their place on Nanotrasen's payroll and onboard corporation's ships for support.

Although originally a human dominated company, Nanotrasen has become very diverse in the last few decades. The stability on Nanotrasen stock has led to its use as a currency between races, and their reliance on it has further helped NT maintain a grip on their power. This has in turn lead to many non-human races seeking (or being forced into) employment with them. With the influx of alien races as staff and share holders, NT has abandoned much of it's human-centric ethos, although many "old guard" humans with xenophobic views remain in positions of power.
"Growth isn't just about numbers; it's about narratives. We're not just expanding our influence; we're molding minds to be lifetime customers."

Despite it's stranglehold in the technological sector there are many companies still in competition with Nanotrasen, such as the well-known Syndicate and many smaller corporations specializing in a variety of consumer products.

Nanotrasen, also known as NT, is a megacorporation within the Trans-Solar Federation (TSF). It's among the galaxy's largest human companies. NT's operations span several offices in Sol, and its private holdings are in fringe sectors near the TSF's borders. NT's rise to power began with bribes for favorable policies, lobbying, political donations, and corporate espionage, aided by corrupt TSF agents. As humanity expanded across the stars, NT solidified its influence.
* The CEO is appointed by the Board of Directors.
* The Board of Directors is appointed by shareholders. Most of the board of directors are themselves the largest share holders.
* An administrative station/base is assigned to a system/region under an Executive of Operations by the Board of Directors.
* The EoO appoints a Head of Staff for Human Resources, Internal Affairs, Asset Protection, and Accounting, which is followed by specific agents under those departments, along with day to day operations staff as per a normal location.
* The NT Rep reports to the Heads of Staff appointed above.
* IAA Report to the Head of Internal Affairs.
* Magistrates report to the Nanotrasen Supreme Court and local planetary governments. While they are not directly paid by Nanotrasen, NT acts as their liaison and processes their reports.
* A Captain or Director of Operations is assigned to the location by the Administrative Human Resources Director, and an advisory internal affairs agent is assigned by the Administrative Head of Internal Affairs. Most of their reports are fielded by HR due to the relevancy, but screened by the Head of Internal Affairs.
* Heads of Staff are assigned for the distinct departments and/or administrative duties by HR under the Captain/DoO.
* Individual departments occasionally have delegations of command, such as Quartermasters and Wardens regarding specific departmental instances.
* Department staff manage their specialties.
* Interns and assistants are assigned to stations for learning opportunities.

NT's significant growth occurred during the Cygni war. They capitalized on the conflict, executing economic takeovers in local planetary economies destabilized by the conflict, primarily plasma mining companies. As one of the primary corporations post-war, NT rapidly acquired assets and mining claims at discounted rates, expanding its empire. They absorbed weaker corporations and lobbied for policies granting them autonomous exploration regions. These corporate territories, overseen lightly by the TSF, were governed by NT's executives and naval officers.
Post shift, some workers have contracts which allow them stay on the Crescent, providing them with lodgings and civilian center level comforts on auxillary parts of the station exclusive to company employees. Some choose to take bluespace transport shuttles to nearby systems or back to Sol on an express link line. Nonetheless, most paper pushers and all Heads of Staff spend at least some ostensible 'off shift' hours enjoying the hospitality of CentComm as they work out their station's issues and report success to their superiors. The following are administrative departments found there.

Human Resources
NT's autonomous zones stirred controversy. Their evident power and favoritism alarmed other corporations. Some viewed NT as a valuable ally for business, while most saw them as a threat, disrupting the balance of corporate influence within the TSF's corrupt politics. This tension ushered in an era of galactic corporate espionage and the emergence of anti-NT terrorist groups, with The Syndicate being a prime example.
The guys who decide if you get a paycheck. After each shift, most administrative staff of the Cyberiad check in and out with the human resources department. Human Resources coordinates heavily with Accounting and Internal Affairs in order to ensure their people are generating a profit and aren't causing a loss. Human Resources has two primary agents: Investigators, and Auditors.

Investigators are bad news to have show up, usually called in by Internal Affairs when a grevious error is made by ranking staff. They ensure productivity isn't impaired by rampant stupidity. A legal Human Resources Investigator must have a permit of operations signed by the HRD and valid for the ship/station/base they are investigating, and a valid and up to date identification card from their administrative station/base. They have the authority to strip the DoO of rank for the duration of a shift, and hold it suspended until audit.
Today, NT operates both within and beyond the TSF's purview. Their influence and market holdings of plasma yields billions in revenue each cycle, innovating and mass-producing products for customers, all managed from their Mars headquarters.

Auditors carry the dread their name implies. When a complaint is filed against a crewmember, auditors are the individuals who carry out the interrogations(audits) of the employee in person if IA cannot, submitting their personal suggestion to the HRD regarding an employee's continued paycheck gathering after reviewing the math from Accounting and a fully compiled case from Internal Affairs. These individuals also conduct annual audits for general purposes as well. They are effectively secretaries for the HRD, but highly respected ones.
Corporate History
Nanotrasen's origins and current dominance lie within the Sol system. They began as an Earth-based company developing power systems for their clientele almost two centuries ago before moving their main headquarters to Mars. The Sol system is the most populated region of the TSF, comprising several planets and government bodies within and around the system. Earth, the cradle of humanity, became a bustling world that grew to house billions of TSF citizens and became a hotspot for business ventures.

Internal Affairs
As Earth began to become overpopulated, expansion towards other celestial bodies like Luna and Mars led to increased migration. Colonists sought early land grants and benefits, facilitated by the development of early FTL engines. Mars, with its loose tax regulations and open ship policies for merchants and customers, quickly became a hub for commerce. This transformed Mars into the ideal corporate planet where opportunity was ever-present. Corporate culture, capitalist ideologies, and even brand tribalism developed on the planet, becoming integral to its identity.
Internal Affairs is the legal crew employed by Nanotrasen. Generally appointed for their discretionary ability, discreet management of lawsuits and various miscellanity falls under. Suits and snitches, what the region's Head of Internal Affairs does with its cases to make ends meet is the business of the EoO and Board, and occasionally SolGov. Internal Affairs rarely takes direct involvement or authority over situations and cases, preferring to hand off official decision making and judgement to its fellows. Its agents are the same, acting in an 'advisory' fashion on their assignments. Given that their work affects one's record and ability to obtain legal assistance from the company, it is best to stay on their good side.

Accounting
The Start of Nanotrasen
Accounting is the mathmatical, cold, unfeeling, paycheck-making part of the company that keeps any big megacorporation moving- WIth money. Accounting sets the bars and lays out what goals need met and where the company stands. Suffice to say, most other parts of the company are forced to take Accounting seriously, or be at risk in their own jobs. HR and Accounting tend to be joined at the hip in most systems and sectors, their work directly impacting the choices of the other, and accounting ordinarily chokes Asset Protection's chain when they start chomping at the bit.
In a bustling Earth city, Johnathan Nexus was born December 2nd, 2044 during the pre-spacecraft era. As the Trans-Solar Federation (TSF) emerged, Nexus, an electrician at the time, noticed the TSF's power grid inefficiencies. Leveraging his expertise, he saw a golden opportunity.
Spotting solar energy's potential, he founded Nanopanel Industries, focusing on solar advancements. Obsessed with creating cleaner and affordable energy, he often sidelined personal relationships. He worked relentlessly on prototypes, dismissing or firing those who offered critiques. This approach, combined with market competition, led to Nanopanel's bankruptcy.

Asset Protection
At this low, Michael Trasen of Trasencorp approached Nexus. Admiring his ambitious innovations, Trasen suggested a merger, with Johnathan having a smaller authority share. Nexus agreed, leading to the birth of Nanotrasen Corporation.
The administrative answer to security, Asset Protection is the direct superiors of all ND* class holdings in their EoOs region, managing response teams, and keeping records clean for SolGov. All Emergency Response Team Commanders ostensibly report to the Head of Asset Protection.
Under Trasen's mentorship, Nexus managed technology and R&D, while Trasen handled business and marketing. Their partnership was tense; Nexus often criticized Trasen's decisions, and Trasen found Nexus elusive. Yet, they produced a game-changer: a compact, efficient turbine generator using natural gas. This device became vital for the TSF's space missions, powering new colonies and space stations, especially early biodomes on Luna and Mars.

Holdings
Nanotrasen quickly became a top power company. Nexus, always assertive, spearheaded projects without Trasen's input, who was engrossed in interplanetary power contracts. Their turbine engine became essential in TSF infrastructure, leading to innovations like advanced solar satellites and Nanocorp's compact generators. However, success drew rivals, who initiated smear campaigns and produced imitations. Nanotrasen, using shrewd tactics, often absorbed these competitors, evolving from a power product manufacturer to a major TSF distributor under government watch.
Nanotrasen ships vary from research vessels to military-grade patrol ships. Stations vary from industrial complexes to weapons platforms.

; Functions
As years passed, a tragedy struck the company. Trasen's sudden death at 52 left all assets and Nanotrasen's control to Nexus. With this power, he expanded the company's reach by adopting a more aggressive stance without his partner. After Nexus' leadership spanned decades, he died of natural causes at the age of 127, bequeathing the company to his chief operating officer, Sylas Chellvan, who would go on to work closely with the TSF as one of the key megacorporations during humanity's space colonization era in Sol.
* <code>NC*</code> = Nanotrasen Commerce. The broad term for a facility or vessel that is vital to NT commerce, it includes all commercial activity that doesn't fall under a more specialized classification.
* <code>NS*</code> = Nanotrasen Science. The bread and butter of Nanotrasen's industry, this classification, while second in number to the sheet swarm of transports, is primary what the company is about, furthering their everyday profit margins.
* <code>NT*</code> = Nanotrasen Transport. Cargo, holding, supply, passenger ships- All are filed under transport, and do the grunt work in swarms for the company
* <code>ND*</code> = Nanotrasen defence. A class licensed for varying levels of hard weaponry- Considered primarily for asset protection.
* <code>NR*</code> = Nanotrasen Response. These can vary from communications to medical care, acting as support to other parts of the corporation, that other ships don't quite fall under... Or occasionally do, under a different guise.
* <code>NA*</code> = Nanotrasen Administration. These tend to be central bases, and are almost never ships with notable exceptions being semi-personal vessels of the CEO, Board of Directors, and similar entities.
* <code>NB*</code> = Nanotrasen Business. Sales, marketing, product delivery; These tend to be almost exclusively bases or, more rarely, stations. They handle the actual movement of money, PR, and other such fun affects of the company.
* <code>NX*</code> = Nanotrasen Experimental. A prototype design.
* <code>NM*</code> = Nanotrasen Mining. For mining ships and stations, almost always plasma.
* <code>NH*</code> = Nanotrasen Hospital. For hospital ships and shuttles, as well as more permanent facilities meant primarily for medical care.

Rise of Corporations
As the Trans-Solar Federation expanded its control across Sol and neighbouring systems, Nanotrasen emerged as a powerful corporation, leveraging its newfound leadership and robust corporate presence within the expanding market reaching out to space, marking NT's ambition to become more than just a power producer.

; Types
Their mining subsidiaries, strategically positioned on Mars, ensured a consistent supply of valuable ores, most notably the highly sought-after mineral known as "plasma." With plasma becoming the next oil, a race to dominate the evolving tech landscape was the obvious next step for the company. NT aggressively invested in its research and development wings, focused on being the first to bring innovation to its consumers and the government. They poached top-tier engineers from Einstein Engines, aiming to carve out their share in the booming FTL engine market. Also investing in the creation of artificial intelligence, setting the stage for fierce rivalry with corporate giants like Cybersun, pioneers in spacer technology, and their own AI subsystems. And not to be outdone in the energy sector, NT would begin the development of a revolutionary power system, codenamed 'Zeusdrive', which promised to render older, resource-intensive engines obsolete and be powerful enough to sustain stations with minimal risk and maintenance.
* <code>N*S</code> = Station. The fun things floating in space that don't tend to go places.
* <code>N*V</code> = Vessel. Spaceships and similarly travelling crafts.
* <code>N*B</code> = Base. These tend to refer to planetside installations of all varieties, and their names are their locations.

It's also important to note, not all weaponized vehicles are classified as <code>ND*</code>, since most stations mount some weapons for self-defence.
The influence of corporate behemoths like Nanotrasen was common in everyday life within the Sol system. It became a rarity to encounter a personal digital assistant or a console that didn't bear the emblem of a major corporation. This corporate presence was an indication of the deep-rooted systems within which corporations existed within the TSF, from the daily worker to the government itself. The TSF, knowing the importance these corporations played in the growth of its colonies and economy, viewed them with a mixed response. Their products and tools were beneficial to the state and its systems to function, but the TSF remained wary, given the whispers of the corporate world, especially when it came to Nanotrasen for their aggressive tactics. Aware of the TSF's increasing concerns, NT secured more contracts, furthering itself as a necessary corporation in the economy. Their control of several wealthy mines on Mars gave them a major share in the plasma market, plasma being essential for powering the engines of colonists and traders venturing across TSF space. This meant that any action that could disrupt NT's daily business risked destabilizing the overall market outside Sol and the TSF.

; Examples
Decades would pass within the TSF, and Nanotrasen took its business to Sol and other systems to further expand its operations, eventually establishing its primary headquarters on Mars as it slowly evolved into a heavily corporate-influenced world. The Sol system had woven itself seamlessly into the corporate fabric of daily life. But it was the Cygni system, a distant colony, that would challenge the unity of the human species. For decades, its colonists and people had harbored growing resentment toward the overarching state they served, perceiving it as tainted by unchecked corporatism and a blatant indifference to the colonies it purported to oversee. The brewing tension would reach a boiling point, sparking the largest human rebellion in TSF history. In NT's eyes, it was an opportunity for growth within the sector, to pave the road for the corporate juggernaut it would become.

Public Relations
Nanotrasen's Expanding Market
NT has a large PR department, which have resulted in a generally positive brand image among the public, advertising the positive aspects of the company. This helps to counter the rumours of illegal and unethical research, military actions, deathsquads, and other problems. Nonetheless, the newscasters and various information boards will always have people raging against NT.
In the 2100s, the TSF entered a golden age of cultural growth, colonization, and harmonious relations with the first contact species, the Skrell. Recognizing the potential of this valuable new market, Nanotrasen, along with other corporations, swiftly dispatched diplomatic representatives to the Crown to secure trade contracts and establish a strong presence for their products within Skrell society. With their ambitious and aggressive marketing strategies, Nanotrasen was among the first to seize this opportunity and cater to its new clientele. They rapidly expanded their operations into Skrellian territories, capitalizing on the burgeoning market growth.

Many governments highly resent NT's power, and their reliance on them for plasma, and other products. Faced with little choice in the matter, they co-operate where they have to. The stability of NT stock has also lead to many using them to trade, and somewhat set a backing for many currencies.
Their eagerness to identify and exploit mutual benefits led to the establishment of Nanotrasen's first foreign Research and Development facility on the Crown. While this provided invaluable insights into Skrellian life, it also marked the beginning of Nanotrasen's efforts to edge out smaller Skrell businesses through cutthroat corporate tactics. Within a decade, Nanotrasen and several other corporations had largely supplanted the original Skrellian businesses in Jargon. This swift corporate expansion evoked mixed reactions among the Skrell. Many viewed the rise of corporatism with suspicion and concern, while others embraced the xenophilic tenets of Skrell culture, celebrating the shared responsibilities and diplomatic harmony between the two species. Business in both the Sol and the Crown markets proved lucrative for Nanotrasen. However, as this era progressed, an unknown threat would cause ripples among both societies.

The First Kidan War in 2154 raised alarm bells for humanity, as they faced the threat of hostile xenos attacking colonies within their territories. Nanotrasen suffered significant losses, with several of their offices and industrial facilities in distant colonies outside of Sol being decimated. This devastation disrupted their operations, leading to the loss of key corporate operatives and crucial logistic lines. For the first time, the company found itself selling assets to recover from the millions of credits lost due to the war's destruction. Numerous NT mining subsidiaries were closed, and a significant portion of their mining facilities were sold to the TSF government, which required more plasma fuel and rare ores for their fleets. The war eventually concluded with a decisive counteroffensive by the TSF and the Skrellian Central Authority, culminating in the devastation of Aurum, the Kidan homeworld. In the war's aftermath, Nanotrasen pivoted its strategy, emphasizing the protection of its assets not just from pirates and corporate espionage but from any perceived enemies to the corporation.

The Kidan War and Aftermath
In the wake of the Kidan War, Nanotrasen's move towards private militarization became an essential aspect of its daily operations, ensuring the safety of cargo, personnel, and the corporation at large from significant threats. Nanotrasen's Asset Protection Division began recruiting ex-military veterans from the Kidan conflict, offering them contracts to safeguard corporate assets and staff. The post-war era saw the militarization of corporations become more commonplace, driven by the rise of piracy and the discovery of hostile xeno entities in space that jeopardized supply routes between colonies and corporate stations orbiting TSF planets.

This Asset Protection team was often dispatched to the outer sectors of TSF space, sometimes acting as a policing or militarizing force for Nanotrasen's mining and research holdings. Their approach was notably aggressive, especially towards locals and colonists not affiliated with the corporation. Concurrently, the aftermath of the Kidan War led to heightened taxation, as the costs of reconstruction and the influx of refugees increased the state's welfare expenditures.

In response, corporations like Nanotrasen began profit-shifting towards Skrell society, exploiting open ports and tax loopholes to evade TSF taxation. They also leveraged tax credits to navigate the overburdened bureaucratic system. This practice, though transparent, was met with widespread resentment due to the prevailing high tax environment. The Cygni system, in particular, would play a pivotal role in triggering a chain reaction that would shatter humanity in two, and allow Nanotrasen to regain its lost legacy, this time prepared.

The Cygni Rebellion
The onset of the Cygni rebellion sent shockwaves throughout TSF space. The Cygni system revolted against the hardships imposed by the heavy taxation of the TSF after the first Kidan War and the corporate oligarchs controlling the system, all under the belief of socialist ideals. Many blamed the TSF, accusing them of being mere puppets of corrupt corporations that oppressed the working class. Their goal was simple: a common goal to break free from the tyrannical and corrupt TSF government and find a new governing body to replace it.

Still recovering from the Kidan war, NT sided with the TSF against the rebels. However, their mining facilities in Cygni were swiftly occupied by resistance groups. NT's Asset Protection Teams were decimated, leading to the loss of another valuable corporate asset. As properties continued to be seized, NT, along with other corporations, funded the war in hopes of regaining their territories and demonstrating loyalty to the TSF.
NT's contribution to the war effort was significant, providing their 'SBER' SMG, rivaling other weapon manufacturers like Scarborough Arms and Shellguard Munitions. This supply of funding and backing from the corporations led to the TSF creating the quickly assembled 5th Fleet, which many corporations saw as their salvation. This optimism was short-lived

The 5th Fleet's attempts to quell the rebellion resulted in widespread devastation. Major industrial sectors and mining facilities were obliterated by heavy bombardment, causing significant losses for NT and other corporations. This aggressive action by the TSF felt like a betrayal.
NT's executives soon realized that the war was unlikely to end in their favor. Their focus shifted to corporations that had invested heavily in Cygni and were now facing bankruptcy due to disrupted supply chains. NT began acquiring these companies at discounted prices, either integrating them as subsidiaries or merging them into existing divisions. This strategy allowed NT to regain its dominant position in the plasma market. meanwhile, NT's Asset Protection teams began conducting anonymous corporate espionage to intimidate and undermine struggling rival corporations. Acts of piracy, sabotage, and reaction shortages in systems surged. The TSF forces, preoccupied with the space conflict above Cygni, could do little to intervene. NT maintained a facade of innocence, distancing themselves from the covert corporate warfare.
As public sentiment shifted, NT pivoted from a pro-war stance to an anti-war position, further straining its relationship with the TSF but appeasing the general populace.

The war eventually concluded in a white peace, with the TSF failing to reclaim Cygni and the USSP emerging as a new space power. Post-conflict, NT had not only regained its dominant position in the plasma market but had also absorbed several struggling businesses. However, this resurgence was not without controversy. NT faced accusations and calls for investigations into their wartime activities. Yet, no substantial evidence was found, and any investigations were swiftly dismissed by TSF courts. The strained relationship between the TSF and NT led to the military selling surplus 'SABR' SMGs and shifting their focus to newer weaponry, like the Scarborough Arms Bulldog F-2 shotguns, this loss of firearms contract was one of many contracts terminated by both parties, as their public reception became more public in the following months.

The Corporate Hierarchy
Nanotrasen's corporate division boasts one of the most complex hierarchies in the realm of corporate structure and design. For many employees at Nanotrasen, climbing to the status of an Officer or becoming a member of the Board of Directors remains an elusive dream. The majority of the workforce is comprised of regular employees, dedicated to working hour by hour, day by day, with the primary goal of earning a credit check at the end of each Sol month.

Climbing the corporate ladder within Nanotrasen is a formidable challenge, marked by an environment rife with cutthroat politics and intense competition. Rumors of corporate climbers resorting to ruthless tactics in their quest for advancement, reflects struggle for those aspiring to be more than mere employees of the company.

Yet, for those who are fortunate or determined, reaching the upper ranks of Nanotrasen is a possibility. The path to becoming part of the top brass is laden with opportunities for loyalty and contractual agreements. However, this journey is also with constant risk of plummeting back to the lower rungs of the corporate ladder.

*Delivering and executing orders from the CEO.
*Overseeing and directing Corporate Officers, including conducting annual reviews, training, and terminations.
*Communicate, and organize with other boards to keep production and operations working full time.
----
Nanotrasen Public Image (NPI): The corporate face, they control most media corporations under their wing and run advertisements, propaganda, and smear campaigns against rival corporations. The NPI while not as critical to the overall daily operations of the company, is still vital for ensuring relevance in a sea of corporations and far distant alien worlds. They keep Nanotrasen a public star of consumerism in the galaxy, even if it creates more customers, or enemies.

Responsibilities include:
*Negotiating trades, business deals, and corporate settlements.
*Propaganda and advertisements, keeping Nanotrasen relevant in their home markets, and making them popular in foreign markets to replace competitors.
*Crisis Control, involving a team of Public Image Officers who manage and mitigate public relations issues.
----
Nanotrasen Asset Protection (NAP): The corporate muscle, they conduct security and detail operations across their various holdings. Founded after the Cygni War, the NAP are critical in keeping Nanotrasen interest safe and secure against the various threats that have sprawled over the centuries. Their constant need to be in an arms race against threats makes them one of the more strict and difficult divisions to work under. More of the NAP information is found below.

Responsibilities include:
*Overwatch of Nanotrasens various PMC divisions. As Nanotrasen has both holdings in land and space, the NAP place various Officers into positions to oversee the corporations interest. These include Naval Officers, Command Officers, and Field Officers.
*Review and update Standard Operating Procedure, and Corporate Law. They ensure Space Law operations are of legality, and keep Officers and subordinates updated with any changes that arise.
*Budget Allocation: With the help of other divisions, the NAP acquire new weapons and deals to ensure officers can equip their subordinates for all threats.
----
Nanotrasen Logistics Operations (NLO): The corporate mule, they oversee trade transactions and shipping across the various systems that sell or trade with Nanotrasen. The Orion Sector is a vast chunk of the galaxy, so trading convoys, and shipping are a network of webs and movement in a state of constant motion. The NLO are what keep Nanotrasen products on shelves, and customers satisfied.

Responsibilities include:
*Shipping and Handling, all Nanotrasen items bought or sold will usually be transported by a trade convoy, and its Naval Officer across space. These conveys while managed by a subordinate are usually planned and worked alongside other divisions to avoid possible issues.
*Exports, Mining, Processing, and Refining all fall under the NLO. As minerals are used in everyday industry, and Plasma is the primarily fuel source for FTL travel, it is handled all by the NLO and and NCO.
*Managing stock and organization in warehouses to prevent shortages.
----
Nanotrasen Commerce Operations (NCO): The corporate money maker, they oversee the departments and business under Nanotrasen to ensure profitability. As Nanotrasen during the centuries swallowed many smaller business's, it's main growth has led to corporate management in liquidating, or investing into the various growing industries. Weapons Manufacturing, Research and Development, and even Corporate Construction are various tasks that are done to continue the expanse and interest of the company.

Responsibilities include:
*Corporate Growth, buying property or colonizing areas of space. If a location has a potential to grow the company, the NCO will buy it, build it, and profit it. Corporations going out of business are usually the prime targets of the NCO.
*Research and Development, to continue always being relevant, the company puts many investments into recently acquired business's or previous manufacturers to produce newer generation products for consumers. This way Nanotrasen can always compete against any other market competitors in the various market holdings they invest into.
*Bookkeeping, when a corporate branch fails to meet a quota, it's reviewed and either liquidated or invested into. The NCO's primary interest is only about maximizing profit, while minimizing expenses. They can occasionally dispute other divisions spending if they find it to be a waste of company funds.

Corporate Officers
<div class="mw-collapsible-content">
Normally considered the best of both worlds, the rank of an officer working for Nanotrasen is usually one of the most comfortable, yet difficult jobs to maintain. Years of experience and loyalty contracts make working a corporate officer a full time commitment to the company, and with said commitment comes the sacrifices one must endure to hold their position. These positions can be divided into two categories with different areas of jurisdiction and influence in decisions, field, and navy.
----
Navy Officer: Serving under the NAP, Navy Officers within the company command significant authority and responsibility. These officers are entrusted with the jurisdiction and oversight of space stations and central command stations integral to corporate operations. Their authority extends to commanding and, defending their Central Command post, by any means necessary.

In alternate situations they can also be found flying corporate ships in a fleet, typically alongside another officer of the same rank, or different field. They have decades of combat experience under their belts, and, will always put the interest of the corporation first above all else. Navy Officers are known to be strict on punishment for late assignments, and insubordination, usually being known for strict mannerisms.
----
Field Officer:
Another Officer serving under the corporations field operations for their planetside endeavors. A Field Officer is normally the main commanding authority on research, distribution, or power facilities within a planets sphere of influence. These officers are bound by stringent loyalty contracts, a commitment that often involves relocating to corporate-owned housings on the deployment planet.

Their role, primarily static, is rooted in the urban sectors of the planet. This limitation in mobility gives nuanced understanding of their operational area, fostering expertise and familiarity. Field Officers are responsible for managing both planetside security personnel and administrative staff. Operating under a corporate legal framework that diverges from standard governmental laws, they tend to adopt less aggressive and more humane approaches in handling criminal and disciplinary matters. To aid in maintaining a cooperative relationship with local governmental law enforcement.
----
Special Operations Officer:
Commonly referred to as SOOs, Special Operations Officers within corporate holdings operate under the dual jurisdiction of both the Navy and Field Operations. These officers spearhead leadership roles for corporate security under the NAP, such as the Emergency Response Teams and other combat units defending corporate interests. SOOs collaborate closely with Navy and Field Officers, coordinating strike and support missions against enemies of the corporation. While SOO's work with other officers, they are considered to be of equal authority, and expected to cooperate to the best of their abilities with other officers. If disputes occur, the NPO act as mediators.

In their daily duties, SOOs are tasked with organizing teams to address specific threats or crises. While the deployment of corporate military assets is expensive and time consuming, it is the SOO who assembles the team's, oversees their equipping, and gathers intelligence on potential threats to ensure missions are adequately prepared. They are often seen conducting debriefings in command rooms or resolving disputes and situations on stations, usually dismissive or condescending to their subordinates.
</div></div>

<div class="toccolours mw-collapsible mw-collapsed" style="width:70%">
Corporate Managers
<div class="mw-collapsible-content">
Usually experienced and trained manager roles that operate within the corporations holdings to supervise and work their staff. While distinction for planetside operations exist, Corporate Managers working as Heads of Departments do not undergo that, instead being similar to both their corporate naval, and field counterparts in naming and workflow. A Captain or Site Manager are identical in authority and responsibilities, but different in naming scheme. And different Nanotrasen holdings undergo this to organize and separate their workforces in company databases.
----
Corporate Liaison:
Often affiliated with the corporation or its subsidiaries, they serve as high-ranking advisors in Nanotrasen facilities, including roles like the Nanotrasen Representative. This position demands a strong reputation within the company, coupled with a thorough understanding of documentation and standard operating procedures. A significant perk of being a liaison is the opportunity to travel across the corporations extensive holdings, either for promotional purposes or to address issues within command staff at various facilities.

Additionally, liaisons play a vital role in intelligence gathering, closely monitoring station workflow. They effectively act as corporate spies, providing an additional layer of vigilant oversight for the corporation, able to inform Corporate Officers of foul play, or potential future issues.

----
Corporate Intern
Not to be confused with station interns, Corporate Internship is usually a tier higher then the average station crew intern, with internship being more focused on the bureaucratic side of the corporation. Most Corporate level interns reside on planets, were business is usually more reliable, and the need for paper pushers is necessary with daily upkeep of company operations. Still, there are some cases of this position working in naval regions of space, like Epsilon Eridani. The Central Command center of the system hires several interns to work odd or menial jobs by Corporate Officers, with some more difficult tasks occasionally handed down to them.

A big critique many from the public notice is the rampant case of nepotism within the role, as longtime Corporate Officers and Members of the BOD will usually give friends and family the position without any prior corporate experience. Even when there are signs of clear incompetence, higher corporate favors and talks can easily save them from the consequences of their failure, and be completely scrubbed off the record.

Nanotrasen Asset Protection
The Nanotrasen Asset Protection Division (NAPD) or (NAP) for short, is not a formal military entity but a specialized security force primarily composed of private contractors. These professionals, including many ex-Sol veterans, are sourced from various parts of the galaxy and are instrumental in safeguarding Nanotrasen's interests and assets. The NAP is deployed in various roles, these include Emergency Response Teams, Security Officers, and Detectives throughout Nanotrasen holdings. Each is equipped to highlight the corporation’s commitment to security and quality.

Naval Fleet
NAP operates a naval fleet characterized by its defensive posture and laser-type weaponry. Although not designed for extensive military engagement, the fleet plays a crucial role in escorting trade convoys and managing occasional conflicts. The fleet’s titanium hull, while not the most robust, has the unique characteristic of being laser-resistant.

Arsenal
NAP’s arsenal is a mix of laser and ballistic weaponry. Laser weapons, primarily sourced from Shellguard Munitions, are standard issues. Nanotrasen also produces its exclusive line of weapons, including the highly restricted Pulse variant guns. Reserved for high-level operatives, these weapons are renowned for their devastating effects, capable of inflicting severe internal burns due to the intense heat generated.

Their arsenal also includes ballistic weapons, including those from WT and SBER, to complement their laser arsenal when ballistics are better equipped. This offering gives the NAP a diverse range of equipment to handle various security and combat scenarios, whether it be terrorist attacks or hostile alien threats.

Foreign Relations
Nanotrasen's extensive ties to governments both within and outside the TSF, strategically position's itself as neutral. NT's PR team aims to sidestep potential controversies or public relations pitfalls in systems where its brand operates. Usually investing or adapting their products and services depending on system cultures. Its vast resources and economic presence make NT a formidable adversary to rival megacorporations and a critical ally to system economies.

NT frequently faces corporate sabotage from Syndicate cells, Pirates, and various smaller terror groups scattered across the galaxy. Most governmental bodies, including the TSF, recognize these entities as threats.

While these acts of sabotage and terrorism often paint NT as a victim in the public's eyes, reactions are mixed. Most revel in seeing a megacorporation falter, others express sympathy, publicly condemning the attacks on NT.

Trans-Solar Federation
NT's relationship with the TSF is tenuous. Following the FAID purge, NT swiftly sought to influence and control planetary governance bodies. While their influence was limited on systems like Sol, due to strong anti-corruption sentiments, they found it easier to sway governors in outer sector systems.

Skrellian Central Authority
Relations with other governing entities, such as the Skrellian Central Authority, are more favorable. Despite the majority of their industry being overtaken by TSF businesses, they receive special privileges to concentrate their industry on the Crown. This arrangement makes it an attractive location for many corporations, including NT, to outsource manufacturing and benefit from cost-effective imports.

Demographics
Spanning the stars, Nanotrasen's inclusive employment policy has cultivated a diverse workforce. Humans constitute approximately 74.2% of the personnel across all facilities. The remaining 25.8% is distributed among non-human species: Skrell (7.5%), IPC (7.3%), Unathi (6.7%), Other (4.3%). While the Sol system and its proximate regions are predominantly human-led, areas further afield, like Epsilon Eridani, see a more equitable distribution of species in leadership roles, including prominent positions held by Unathi, IPC, and occasionally, Vox.

Epsilon Eridani Holdings
The Epsilon Eridani Sector, although distant from the primary Sol planets of the TSF, contains several significant entities. Many of these are satellites and stations constructed throughout the sector due to Nanotrasen's expansion following their acquisition of the sector's main corporation, Althland Mining Co. While the system isn't as populated as others and remains somewhat isolated from the galaxy's main trade networks, it retains value and is considered one of Nanotrasen's key holdings. The TSF governance granted occupation under a trade agreement, wherein a majority of the rich minerals extracted from the planet would be traded within TSF space. In return, Nanotrasen was given quasi-governance and authority within the system to ensure and maintain order.

Important Stations
<div class="toccolours mw-collapsible mw-collapsed">
NSS Farragus Farragus
<div class="mw-collapsible-content">

In the year 2472, a mining company, Althland Expeditions, began initiating mining operations in the Epsilon Eridani sector. Despite its modest workforce, it was substantially backed by the Trans-Solar Federation through generous credit grants. These incentives aimed to stimulate companies to venture into uncharted space and foster economic growth. Althland Expedition's primary focus was the asteroid belts surrounding Lavaland, culminating in the construction of the Farragus Mining and Refining Facility, a station dedicated to mining and exporting rare ores back to TSF space.

As the company expanded, so did its ambitions. Consequently, a small outpost was established on Lavaland to facilitate the exploitation of the planet's resources. However, this venture would later prove to be an investment failure, as numerous other workgroups and facilities were decimated by aggressive local wildlife.

Simultaneously, the asteroid belts started to deplete, and Althland Expeditions faced numerous lawsuits regarding worker safety and health violations filed by the Trans-Solar Federation. Ultimately, these challenges led to Althland Expeditions filing for bankruptcy and being acquired by Nanotrasen Corp at a significantly reduced cost.

Nanotrasen, recognizing the precarious investment Althland Expeditions had previously made in Lavaland, having different intentions for the facility. They aimed to utilize the innovative Super Matter shard power technology. The mining station was consequently transformed into a Super Matter testing facility, operating for decades to study and experiment with the potential of these shards.

Considering the severe and potentially catastrophic outcomes associated with Super Matter shards, additional infrastructure had to be invested in the facility. This included the construction of medbays, cafeterias, and an R&D sector. As Super Matter shards became more commonplace in Nanotrasen stations and amongst publicly traded commodities sold by NT, Farragus became obsolete. It was subsequently renovated into a research station for the company.

Eventually, mining operations were reinstated when it was discovered that the sector, and Lavaland in particular, were rich in bluespace minerals. Farragus evolved from a mining station owned by a small, absorbed company, into a thriving Nanotrasen research station.

<div class="mw-collapsible-content">

Within just a few short years, Nanotrasen had achieved majority control over the Epsilon Eridani sector, a feat accomplished through a series of strategic corporate acquisitions. However, their policy of rapid expansion gave rise to unexpected challenges. The vastness of the newly colonized space resulted in difficulties in communication and the enforcement of corporate policies.

In response to these challenges, Nanotrasen made a strategic decision to construct a state-of-the-art communications relay and military star station in the vicinity of Lavaland, a planet they had recently acquired. This move not only asserted their dominance over the Epsilon Eridani sector, but also provided a robust solution to the logistical challenges at hand.

The station was originally nicknamed the NAS Kerberos, a tribute to the executive responsible for the governance of the sector in its early years. As one of the inaugural stations constructed by Nanotrasen, Kerberos was designed to serve multiple purposes: it functioned as a communication relay, served as a repository for Nanotrasen-branded military-grade equipment, and provided accommodation for officials ranging from command officers to military-trained soldiers, who stood ready to defend the corporation's authority.

Despite the crucial role Kerberos played, it was eventually decommissioned following the creation of the NAS Turl, a more advanced station equipped with some of Nanotrasen's cutting-edge technologies and weapons. However, as mining on Lavaland became more lucrative and bluespace and plasma emerged as hot commodities in the market, NSS Kerberos was given a new lease on life.

It was repurposed into a research station in the sector, with a renewed focus on technology development and mining operations alongside many other stations in the sector.

NSS Cyberiad Cyberiad
<div class="mw-collapsible-content">

As Nanotrasen occupied and annexed the Epsilon Eridani sector, they focused on expanding their research into Plasma technology, which was in its infancy at the time. The wealth of resources from Farragus and other mining outposts spurred the creation of a Research and Development station, the NSS Cyberiad.

This station capitalized on the raw materials from the newly annexed mining operations, negating the need for costly exports back to Nanotrasen-controlled space.

Quickly, the NSS Cyberiad emerged as Nanotrasen's crown jewel in plasma development, thanks to its cutting-edge onboard equipment and strategic location. It became the primary hub for scientific studies in the sector, helping to propel Nanotrasen's products and brand across the cosmos.

The establishment of this station proved highly profitable. Over the decades, it was continually remodeled and expanded to maximize productivity and profit. This led to the NSS Cyberiad earning the record for the largest restructured station in the Epsilon Eridani's history, a testament to the sector's—and the station's—value to Nanotrasen's financial portfolio. As plasma became a commonplace commodity, Nanotrasen shifted its focus to the emerging and lucrative field of bluespace technology. Despite this shift, the NSS Cyberiad remains a symbol of Nanotrasen's commitment to research and innovation.

It continues to operate and attract the attention of investors and competitors, despite showing signs of age after decades of continuous operation. The station still focuses on pioneering research for the corporation, standing as a proud beacon of Nanotrasen's past achievements and ongoing scientific ambitions.

The full annexation of the Epsilon Eridani sector provided Nanotrasen with complete control over the sector's resources and celestial bodies. This extensive expansion led to the construction of more facilities, all of which were backed by the robust infrastructural network of the pre-existing stations.

In time, Nanotrasen evolved into a cosmic brand, recognized widely for its vast production capabilities and corporate might. This reputation stoked their ambitions, prompting the reinvestment of their considerable profits and abundant resources into innovative new projects.

One of these projects was the NSS Cerebron. Aimed to eclipse the NSS Cyberiad in structure and productivity. The intention was to attract investors by creating a station that was presented as a alleged improvement over the existing Cyberiad. One that showcased innovative building techniques and better facility equipment.

This strategy, however, did not yield the expected results. The Cerebron's design, perceived as merely an imitation of the Cyberiad's, lacked originality and interesting features. Investors rapidly discerned that the station's productivity and profit margins were inferior to those of the Cyberiad. This led to a shortfall in investment, resulting in the Cerebron being deemed a financial disappointment.

Despite its flaws, the NSS Cerebron was not abandoned. It continued to receive financial support, albeit less than the Cyberiad. Though it did not meet its original marketing goals, the station identified a new role within Nanotrasen's operations.

Today, it serves as one of the numerous research and mining facilities contributing to Nanotrasen's overall revenue, exemplifying the corporation's adaptability in overcoming adversity.

Following the successful creation and staffing of the Cyberiad, with mining operations in full progress, Nanotrasen shifted focus to a new generation command centre. Intended to replace the outdated and technologically inferior Kerberos, and constructed with distance away from Lavaland to avoid its bluespace anomalies. The NAS Trurl would be conceived as the newest and most powerful star bastion in the sector.

Equipped with upgraded telecommunications hubs, advanced defense cannons, and cutting-edge starbase alloys for reinforcement, the NAS Trurl quickly rendered the Kerberos obsolete in design and armament. Its positioning in the sector made bluespace interference less of an issue then the previously closer Kerebos. This obsolescence allowed for a different approach to the latter's purpose.

The corporation heavily invested in the NAS Trurl, connecting it to all the stations within the Epsilon Eridani sector. Serving as a transit hub, it controls and surveils the daily workflow, ensuring easy management of venting and secure trade routes thanks to its orbital cannons and significant fleet of corporate ships and PMCs.

The NAS Trurl also hosts Nanotrasen's privatized military contractors, ready to respond to any emergency within the sector. Critical central command officers manage corporate interests, from military responses to production oversight, wielding significant influence to enforce corporate authority and law.

The NAS Trurl currently stands active as the primary star bastion and command centre in the entire Epsilon Eridani sector, acting as a military reserve and vital communication hub throughout the region.

Culture and Society
Anchored in Human traditions from the Sol system, Nanotrasen has grown to become a dominant force in the galaxy. Its origins, deeply intertwined with human society, have shaped its primary demographic focus. Nanotrasen's influence isn't limited to its foundational base in the TSF. The corporation has expanded its reach to various systems, establishing holdings on planets such as Jargon, Ahdomai & Iluk, and the Nian Homeworld. In doing so, it has introduced its unique ethos to these diverse cultures.

Nanotrasen's urban centres and space stations present a polished facade, catering to tourists and the wealthy. However, this gleaming exterior often hides a darker reality. Many Nanotrasen-dominated sectors suffer from environmental degradation and rampant corruption in their less-visible regions. Given that most planets with a corporate presence have rival corps stationed planetside, Nanotrasen and its authority tend to limit to wherever their jurisdiction reaches, occasionally causing disputes and disruptions against other corps to aggressively persuade them off the planet. Their control of the resources within their jurisdiction is completely owned by the corporation, with small income going to the leading planet governance and remaining to infrastructure and expanding operations.

Business Languages
While the primary language within a Nanotrasen holding often reflects the local planet's tongue, Galactic Common must be a fully understood language to work with the company, and failure to do so usually results in termination. Tradeband, while not as important is also taken into account when working within the company, as its usefulness in the field of trade and commerce often help elevate potential hires.

Corporate Fashion
The fashion of Nanotrasen blends traditional human business practices with a distinct emphasis on visual symbols of wealth and status. Mars, in the Sol system, is the birthplace of Nanotrasen's distinct fashion sense, being the most heavily corporate influence planet in the sector. Tailored suits, exquisite jewelry, and an emphasis on immaculate grooming have become synonymous with the corporate elite. Logos and symbols of the corporation are prominently displayed on clothing and accessories, signifying an individual's allegiance and loyalty to their corporation. This aesthetic has permeated societies with Nanotrasen's influence, leading to a blend of corporate and traditional styles even among species not of human descent. As individuals climb the corporate ladder, it's almost an unspoken rule to sport attire that could rival the value of a small starship.

Living Conditions
The corporation offers various living accommodations to its employees and customers, tailored to either their status within the company, and even specific needs of exotic species. For general workers or contractors, Nanotrasen provides basic apartments. These are typically located in station or planetside complexes designed to house employees, thereby reducing the need for interstellar travel. These accommodations include essential utilities like water, gas, and electricity, featuring a bathroom, bedroom, and a living area. Such living conditions, while modest, are adequate and appealing, especially in sectors like Epsilon, known for their relative modesty yet sufficient appeal for those seeking residence in the system. Kitchens are not supplied to basic apartments, as indoor food vendors are built into the living room from corporate brands pre-packaged and ready to eat, similar to a vending machine. While not as healthy, it provides a full meal at convenience for the resident or guest.

Those seeking to live in an apartment but are not an employee of the corporation can still reside within an corporate complex. However fee's and background checks are essential to ensuring residency in whichever location one chooses to live. Systems in the core worlds like the Trans-Solar Federation are more open to accommodation as many people use them as temporary motels during travel within the system, whether it be planetside or space. Living space for customers can vary from a basic room, to a modest suite, all a matter of price and budget for the customer in which the corporate is always happy to accommodate.

For higher-ranking or more experienced employees, Nanotrasen offers superior housing options. Veterans of the corporation or those with lengthy and productive contracts, such as Corporate Managers, Officers, and Executives receive access to better-quality rooms. These accommodations reflect the higher standards and contributions of these employees compared to entry-level positions like Janitors, Cargo Technicians, and Assistants. Even having luxuries like kitchens, walk in closets, and shuttle docking garage access.

Accommodations for exotic species like Plasmamen and Vox are provided by specialized containment or housing units. In sectors with a more diverse population, such as Epsilon, these specialized accommodations are more common to support the varying needs of the workforce. However, in regions like Sol and Tau Ceti, where these species are rarer, such specialized housing is less frequent. In these areas, Plasmamen and Vox might need to rely on personal adaptations, like constant mask usage or self-funded housing modifications, which can be costly and rare, and even denied by the corporate property manager of the complex.
Nanotrasen Brand Technology
Nanotrasen's reach and influence within the TSF and other alien societies have granted it access to a plethora of valuable blueprints and product placements. Originally a power production company specializing in solar panel technology, Nanotrasen has evolved into a formidable power empire. Their most common products include solar panels, turbine generators, and PAC portable generators, catering to everyday consumers and small space installations. In recent years, Nanotrasen began experimenting with more potent energy sources. The Tesla generator, marketed as a safe and efficient self-running electricity-producing engine, became a staple in TSF bastions, both in space and on planets. Planetside Tesla engines are constructed deep within the planet's crust to minimize potential damage in case of containment failures, while space stations utilize heavy containment setups and the vacuum of space to control the engine. However, Nanotrasen's prized innovation, the Supermatter crystal, remains shrouded in secrecy. Rumored to be created using particle accelerators and nuclear reactions, its reverse engineering poses significant challenges due to its lethal capabilities and the crystal's short half-life. With a record span of 394 days before radiation levels ceased, the crystal eventually disintegrates into ash. Only a few of these engines exist, with most housed in high-clearance NT facilities or TSF power plants. A single crystal can power full-scale cities on a planet. However, its limitations include complex and hazardous containment, a staggering market price in the billions, and a constant need for replacement, as crystals typically last only about a year.

Summary

"Growth isn't just about numbers; it's about narratives. We're not just expanding our influence; we're molding minds to be lifetime customers."

- Oscar Kanta, Corporate Director of Nanotrasen Public Image.

Today, NT operates both within and beyond the TSF's purview. Their influence and market holdings of plasma yields billions in revenue each cycle, innovating and mass-producing products for customers, all managed from their Mars headquarters.

Corporate History Ntflag.png

Nanotrasen's origins and current dominance lie within the Sol system. They began as an Earth-based company developing power systems for their clientele almost two centuries ago before moving their main headquarters to Mars. The Sol system is the most populated region of the TSF, comprising several planets and government bodies within and around the system. Earth, the cradle of humanity, became a bustling world that grew to house billions of TSF citizens and became a hotspot for business ventures.

The Start of Nanotrasen

At this low, Michael Trasen of Trasencorp approached Nexus. Admiring his ambitious innovations, Trasen suggested a merger, with Johnathan having a smaller authority share. Nexus agreed, leading to the birth of Nanotrasen Corporation.

Nanotrasen's Expanding Market

Shareholders

The corporate shareholders of Nanotrasen form the core leadership of the company. Most of these shareholders represent entities that have either been acquired by or merged with Nanotrasen. A smaller portion of the shares is available to the public, allowing public investing from species influenced by Nanotrasen to have a stake in the company.

The CEO, although positioned at the lower end of the shareholder spectrum, is regarded as one of the most influential figures in the corporation. Their decisions and actions weight the most, steering the companies operations and long term strategies, all under the oversight of the primary shareholders who wield the true power.

The Shareholders of Nanotrasen are categorized as follows:

Nanotrasen Corporation:

 • Holding a dominant 51% of NT stock shares, the corporation maintains decisive control and strategic direction over the company's operations, these include the current active CEO of the company.

Other Corporate Investors:

 • These entities own 32.6% of NT stock shares. While they lack direct decision-making power, their investments significantly contribute to rising stock margins and overall financial growth.

Public Stock:

 • Accounting for 8.4% of NT's stock, these shares are publicly traded, inviting a dynamic influx of investors. Stocks on NT as of modern times are expensive, constantly being traded by brokers.

CEO (Chief Executive Officer):

 • The CEO, although holding a smaller share in the company, wields considerable influence. Commanding a high salary and responsible for executive decisions, the CEO plays a critical role in shaping the company's trajectory, albeit under the supervision of the higher powers within the corporation.

Board of Directors

Nanotrasen appoints a board of directors, comprised of executives working across various business ventures of the corporation. This board is divided into five distinct sub-groups, each overseen by executive officers appointed by the CEO.

These five divisions work together in relative harmony to ensure the company and its subordinates are working at full capacity. While some divisions may conflict with each other on decisions and jurisdiction of responsibility, they are usually brief or settled quickly.

Nanotrasen Personnel Operations (NPO): The corporate brain, NPO supervises other corporate boards and their subdivisions. They ensure cohesive management and alignment with the company's interests. Though limited in number, NHC holds the highest authority within the Corporate Executive branch and often includes potential future CEOs.

Responsibilities include:

 • Delivering and executing orders from the CEO.
 • Overseeing and directing Corporate Officers, including conducting annual reviews, training, and terminations.
 • Communicate, and organize with other boards to keep production and operations working full time.

 • Negotiating trades, business deals, and corporate settlements.
 • Propaganda and advertisements, keeping Nanotrasen relevant in their home markets, and making them popular in foreign markets to replace competitors.
 • Crisis Control, involving a team of Public Image Officers who manage and mitigate public relations issues.

 • Overwatch of Nanotrasens various PMC divisions. As Nanotrasen has both holdings in land and space, the NAP place various Officers into positions to oversee the corporations interest. These include Naval Officers, Command Officers, and Field Officers.
 • Review and update Standard Operating Procedure, and Corporate Law. They ensure Space Law operations are of legality, and keep Officers and subordinates updated with any changes that arise.
 • Budget Allocation: With the help of other divisions, the NAP acquire new weapons and deals to ensure officers can equip their subordinates for all threats.

 • Shipping and Handling, all Nanotrasen items bought or sold will usually be transported by a trade convoy, and its Naval Officer across space. These conveys while managed by a subordinate are usually planned and worked alongside other divisions to avoid possible issues.
 • Exports, Mining, Processing, and Refining all fall under the NLO. As minerals are used in everyday industry, and Plasma is the primarily fuel source for FTL travel, it is handled all by the NLO and and NCO.
 • Managing stock and organization in warehouses to prevent shortages.

 • Corporate Growth, buying property or colonizing areas of space. If a location has a potential to grow the company, the NCO will buy it, build it, and profit it. Corporations going out of business are usually the prime targets of the NCO.
 • Research and Development, to continue always being relevant, the company puts many investments into recently acquired business's or previous manufacturers to produce newer generation products for consumers. This way Nanotrasen can always compete against any other market competitors in the various market holdings they invest into.
 • Bookkeeping, when a corporate branch fails to meet a quota, it's reviewed and either liquidated or invested into. The NCO's primary interest is only about maximizing profit, while minimizing expenses. They can occasionally dispute other divisions spending if they find it to be a waste of company funds.

Corporate Officers

Normally considered the best of both worlds, the rank of an officer working for Nanotrasen is usually one of the most comfortable, yet difficult jobs to maintain. Years of experience and loyalty contracts make working a corporate officer a full time commitment to the company, and with said commitment comes the sacrifices one must endure to hold their position. These positions can be divided into two categories with different areas of jurisdiction and influence in decisions, field, and navy.

Field Officer: Another Officer serving under the corporations field operations for their planetside endeavors.

Special Operations Officer: Commonly referred to as SOOs, Special Operations Officers within corporate holdings operate under the dual jurisdiction of both the Navy and Field Operations.

Corporate Managers

Usually experienced and trained manager roles that operate within the corporations holdings to supervise and work their staff. While distinction for planetside operations exist, Corporate Managers working as Heads of Departments do not undergo that, instead being similar to both their corporate naval, and field counterparts in naming and workflow. A Captain or Site Manager are identical in authority and responsibilities, but different in naming scheme. And different Nanotrasen holdings undergo this to organize and separate their workforces in company databases.

Corporate Liaison: Often affiliated with the corporation or its subsidiaries, they serve as high-ranking advisors in Nanotrasen facilities, including roles like the Nanotrasen Representative.

Corporate Intern Not to be confused with station interns, Corporate Internship is usually a tier higher then the average station crew intern, with internship being more focused on the bureaucratic side of the corporation.

Species Percentage
Human 74.2 %
Skrell 7.5 %
IPC 7.3 %
Unathi 6.7 %
Other 4.3 %

NSS Farragus

NSS Kerberos

NSS Cyberiad

NSS Cerebron

NAS Trurl
