The playable Spiders has somewhat been retired in Paradise Station. They do manage to make an appearance however, as NPC Spiders as well as spiderlings. Their successors are the Terror Spiders, and their page can be found here.

This page shows how the original Spiders was back then, as such, this page has been archived due to various reasons.

Spiders are a random event that causes a fair amount of spiderlings to appear around the station and eventually evolve into giant spiders.

General

In general it's fairly simple to play a spider. Have common sense (see that large group of security officers with batons? Probably best to stay away.), know what type of spider you are and keep an eye on your health.

As a Human

  • Weld vents, this'll prevent spiderlings from travelling all about the station.
  • Carry a weapon. Toolboxes, crowbars, anything that can kill should be with you.
  • Don't travel alone into dark areas. Self-explanatory.
  • Avoid walking into spider webs at all times.

As a Spider

  • Destroy lights and stick to the shadows. Humans are faster than you, it's easier and better to ambush than to chase after them.
  • Incapacitate Crew. Nurse Spiders need to lay eggs in order to keep the spider army large and dangerous. If that human you just mauled isn't on the floor and unconscious or dead.. make it happen.
  • Spin Webs. Spin lots of webs, if you spam the Spin Web ability on a tile rapidly you can create multiple stacks of webs which will guarantee anyone who steps into it won't be leaving.
  • Know what class you are. We'll talk about this in a moment.

Classes

Three types of playable spider classes that are randomly chosen for you.

File:GuardSpider.png Guard Spider; The tank of the three, has the most health and packs the biggest punch. Guard Spiders are meant to protect the other two and be the shield of the group.

File:HunterSpider.png Hunter Spider; The assassin of the three, has the most speed and deals toxin damage along with the standard brute damage. Hunter Spiders are meant to attack from the shadows and focus on taking down unsuspecting people.

File:NurseSpider.png Nurse Spider; The most important of the three, can lay eggs which will eventually hatch a few spiderlings. Nurse Spiders in terms of combat are very average, don't try to be a spider hero and take down a well-equipped person.

Spiderlings

Spiderlings are what the humans need to kill and what the spiders need to keep alive. Spiderlings can travel through vents and will eventually evolve into any of the three classes. Spiderlings are non-playable.

Common Questions

  • Do spiders need oxygen/? Yes, without oxygen, they will die extremely fast.
  • How do I make multiple stacks of spider webs? Spam the Spin Web button on a tile, if theres already a spider web on that tile it won't work.
  • How do I deal toxin damage as a hunter? When you attack someone it automatically deals toxin damage along with brute damage to the target.
  • Can spiders travel through vents? No, only spiderlings can travel through vents.
