On one hand, it is with this that many players are allowed to supposedly continue life after departing Space Station 13. On the other, many players may die waiting for the shuttle to leave, due to either a shuttle brawl or a traitor who happens to want no company with him on his return voyage. The escape shuttle is also the cause of many arguments as to whether or not the situation on the station warrants an evacuation. <strike>(The correct answer is, if anyone is working in toxins, you should call the shuttle, just to be safe).</strike>
The Emergency Shuttle (also known as Escape Shuttle, or simply Shuttle) is a ship utilized by Nanotrasen to quickly and securely bring the crew onboard one of their stations to NAS Trurl, the command centre of Nanotrasen Central Command. It may only be called once the shift ends or hell is let loose on station with no other way to remedy the situation. It is every crew member's duty to board the shuttle once it docks to the station, as there won't be any pity in leaving them stranded alone in an empty vessel. Syndicate Agents called "Hijackers" are known to have an objective to hijack it while leaving no loyal Nanotrasen employees onboard, often slaughtering everyone inside and causing massive amounts of damage.

Calling the Shuttle
Bringing the Shuttle to You
The shuttle can be called from a Communcations Console by any Heads of Staff, the AI and its Cyborgs, or anyone with Bridge access. The same people, except the AI and its Cyborgs, can recall the shuttle so long as 5 minutes have not passed since it was called. During Revolution, Malfunction and Blob game modes, the shuttle can be called but it will never arrive.
For the first 23 minutes of the shift, the Emergency Shuttle is undergoing refueling and is unable to be called by any means aside from direct Central Command intervention. After that time has passed, the Emergency Shuttle may be called by the onboard AI or through a Communications Console by anyone with Command level access, including Cyborgs. Communications Consoles may be found in the center of the bridge and in the Captain's Office. If all Communications Consoles are broken and the station lacks an AI, the Emergency Shuttle will automatically be called and come in 25 minutes. The Emergency Shuttle is also automatically called after the shift ends, which is two hours after it starts. In the event of biohazards such as Xenomorphs, Blobs or Terror Spiders being onboard the station, Central Command MUST be notified before calling the shuttle.

Once called, the shuttle takes ten minutes for Central Command to power, program, and supply before arriving at the station, waiting for three minutes (if the Heads or a traitor with an emag don't get too jumpy first), and then leaves the station, taking two minutes to travel in hyperspace. Presumably the supplies are in case in the shuttle really fouls up this hyperspace process.
The time before the Emergency Shuttle docks with the station is dependent on the alert level of the station when it had been called. On Green and Blue alerts it docks after 10 minutes, but on Red alert and above it's 5 only minutes. After docking, everyone will have 3 minutes to board the shuttle before it leaves and enters Central Command in 2 minutes of transit. EMAGing the shuttle console forces it to leave the station after 10 seconds.

Shuttle Bridge
If you change your mind, you can recall the shuttle through a Communications Console, excluding Cyborgs and the AI. Be sure to hurry, as the shuttle can't be recalled if it's already halfway towards the station! Recalling the shuttle puts a cooldown on when it can be called again, equal to the length of time it already took to travel to the station.

The shuttle bridge at the fore section requires Bridge/Headquarters access and is reserved for the Heads of Staff, although the general crew gets a boner for occupying restricted areas and will try and slip in.
Shuttles
Myriad shuttles are available for purchase through the Supply Shuttle Console found in Cargo. Each one of them costs a pretty penny, so it will take quite a bit of work to acquire enough cash for one. Unless you are a brave prankster, make sure to pick a sensible shuttle or you may find yourself a victim to ridicule, demotion or even lynch mobbing!

The bridge contains many consoles, the most important one being the Shuttle Console. If at least three Heads of Staff swipe their IDs on it (or if a traitor emags it), the waiting time for the shuttle gets shortened to 10 seconds.

Shuttle Brig
Hijacking It
As a Traitor you may find yourself having a goal to hijack the escape shuttle. To hijack the shuttle, you must make your way to the Command deck and get to the shuttle console usually positioned right in the middle of it. Alt-Clicking the console will start a hack of the shuttle's navigation subroutines. After you hack it the fifth time, it will announce that in 10 seconds it will do a "bluespace exit" and dock at the Syndicate base. Make sure there aren't any non-syndicate crew onboard during the hijack, or you might fail on accident!

The shuttle brig (marked with red flooring) should be used to house criminals long enough to be transferred over to Centcom security for further investigation and possible incarceration. Traitors within the brig when the shuttle arrives at centcom will fail their escape objective. Requires Security access to enter.

Bringing the Shuttle to You

Hijacking It Swordred.gif

As a Traitor you may find yourself having a goal to hijack the escape shuttle. To hijack the shuttle, you must make your way to the Command deck and get to the shuttle console usually positioned right in the middle of it. Alt-Clicking the console will start a hack of the shuttle's navigation subroutines. After you hack it the fifth time, it will announce that in 10 seconds it will do a "bluespace exit" and dock at the Syndicate base. Make sure there aren't any non-syndicate crew onboard during the hijack, or you might fail on accident!
