Waking Up
As a Derelict researcher you spawn in the cryogenics area of a Derelict Nanotrasen Research Station far away from the main station. Most of your equipment and various infrastructure starts out in varying levels of disrepair from your extended time in storage, and primary power seems to have failed.
You're a Nanotrasen employee, working on a state-of-the-art research station on the frontier of known space. Or at least you were, anyway. The AP alerted you of a solar radiation storm and you went to cryogenic storage with the rest of the crew to wait it out for 6 hours. Unfortunately, a sensor malfunction resulted in the majority of the crew never being awakened, and only 3 cryo pods being able to be maintained in working condition on emergency power.

"So What Do I Do Now?"
When you get out of your cryogenics bay pod, there will be some glowsticks and crowbars off to your left. You'll need the crowbars to open doors if there's no power and a glowstick to see in the same situation. You can also find a backpack in the maintenance area to the left of the cryogenics area. Once you've left the cryo bay, you'll want to try and restore power. You can do this by wiring the PACMAN Generator, found in the engineering room directly to your left with the radiation hazard signs (Don't worry about that too much), into the grid and powering it with uranium, stored in the crate directly in front of the generator. Now that you've done this, you can head to the bridge to lift the station lockdown and access the engineering bay. Here you'll find that the station solar array's been mostly destroyed. Fortunately, there are spare panels scattered around the station in crates, meaning you can rebuild it and power the station more permanently.

With power properly restored to the entirety of the station, you'll have a lot more freedom as to what you can do now. You can take the various laser guns from security (Unless "someone" stole them) and attempt to kill the hivebots in the R&D area of the station, allowing you access to a basic R&D setup, robotics setup, some varied chemicals and the prototypes in the prototype lab, if you can manage to access them. (Note that both the Security Officer and Engineer are also capable of accessing science, not just the Scientist.) You can also attempt to grow some plants in the hydroponics area so that you can make food, try to restore atmospherics to the station properly, attempt to figure out what happened whilst you were asleep, attempt to make contact with a nearby station or explore the surrounding area of space.

In the prototype storage area, you'll find an Energy Ball Generator, and furthermore, a Particle Accelerator and equipment to set up a containment field in Research Storage. This is all the equipment you'll need to set up a Tesla Engine if you have the know-how to do so. Generally when doing this, it's advised to remove the atmosphere from the engine room (for the safety of your ears) and to only attempt it if you know what you're doing, as if containment fails, the energy ball will likely kill nearly everything on the Z-Level. This, most likely, includes you.

Out Of The Dark Ages

Ride The Lightning

In the prototype storage area, you'll find an Energy Ball Generator, and furthermore, a Particle Accelerator and equipment to set up a containment field in Research Storage. This is all the equipment you'll need to set up a Tesla Engine if you have the know-how to do so. Generally when doing this, it's advised to remove the atmosphere from the engine room (for the safety of your ears) and to only attempt it if you know what you're doing, as if containment fails, the energy ball will likely kill nearly everything on the Z-Level. This, most likely, includes you.
