What is Central Command?
Nanotrasen Central Command (AKA: "CC" or "CentCom") refers to the NAS Trurl, a Nanotrasen Administrative Station in the system of Epsilon Eridani. It handles the management for all stations, fleets and ships within the system. It is also the main headquarters of NT's presence in the system, assigning tasks such as station goals to the crews of individual stations. Unlike research stations, such as the Cyberiad, Central Command is under the direct control of the NT Navy. As one of the most important starbases in the area, it is heavily defended, and intruders are typically shot on sight. Its defenses include long range BSA (bluespace artillery) cannons, close range combat drones, combat cyborgs, and many heavily armed officers.
Due to their vital role in the chain of command, CentCom staff almost always travel armed, typically with pulse weapons, and special implants that vaporize their body if they are captured or killed. Central Command staff do not generally appear on the front lines of combat, but they are well trained and prepared for any situation which might put them in danger.
All assets that are dispatched to any vessel or station under Nanotrasen command will have means of identification to verify their legitimacy.
All Offices respond to the Navy Captain, who in return answers to the Executive of Operations, one of the highest instances within the company.
Interaction With The Cyberiad Crew
Central Command Officers always outrank Cyberiad crew members. No exceptions. Even the Captain and Magistrate are subject to their authority.
CC officers have the authority to alter, or waive, Space Law / SOP for the current shift.
There are CC officers of all species, including some species you won't see as normal crew. CC officers prefer to communicate through announcements, faxes, and radio. Some may appear in person. They always take their job very seriously, and failure to obey their commands can result in the termination of one's contract and life.
Be wary though, because if Central Command officials appear physically on the station, it's primarily because something has either gone terribly, terribly wrong, or because they are trying to prevent certain individuals from overstepping their boundary to preserve the crews integrity. If they come on board, it's in your best interest to listen to their commands. You don't want to find out what happens if you don't.
Gameplay / General Info
NT roles are restricted to the Paradise administration due to their nature. Always keep in mind that those jobs have an immense authority ICly and hold a lot of responsibility that, in the wrong hands, could cause a lot of distruption and chaos. They also have access to powerful weaponry and are capable of ruining your day.
Their actual purpose is to simply inject themselves into a shift and make for interesting change to influence the current rounds progression and give players something to react to or work with; may it be through random announcements, calling the Captain out on his incompetence or making IC administrative statements or proclaim new regulations. It all depends on the admin currently putting themselves into one of the NT characters.
In certain times, admins may allow handpicked players to take on one of those much sought after event roles with specific objectives in mind. This is a privilege and should not be wasted nor abused in any way, shape or form. The admins trust you to handle the role with responsibility and in good faith of contributing to the round to make it interesting for everyone. Remember, you have a lot of authority IC, so use it wisely and considerably and don't ruin the staffs trust for future players to lose this chance.
