What is Central Command?
Nanotrasen Central Command (AKA: "CC" or "CentCom") refers to the NAS Trurl, a Nanotrasen Administrative Station in the system of Epsilon Eridani. It handles the management for all stations, fleets and ships within the system. It is also the main headquarters of NT's presence in the system, assigning tasks such as station goals to the crews of individual stations. Unlike research stations, such as the Cyberiad, Central Command is under the direct control of the NT Navy. As the most important starbase in the system, it is heavily defended, and intruders are typically shot on sight. Its defences include long range BSA (bluespace artillery) cannons, close range combat drones, combat cyborgs, and many heavily armed military officers.
Due to their vital role in the chain of command, CentCom staff almost always travel armed, typically with pulse weapons, and special implants that vaporize their body if they are captured or killed. Central Command staff do not generally appear on the front lines of combat, but they are well trained and prepared for any situation which might put them in danger.
NanoTrasen deny the use of Death Squads or Undercover Agents. Anyone slandering the name of NanoTrasen by implying they employ a "Death Squad" can expect to see themselves sued or their contract "modified".
Identification
CentComm officers can be identified by being Mind Shielded, carrying CentComm ID, their uniforms and berets. The pulse weapon and backing of CC is generally also a good hint.
If their identity is in question, it can be verified by contacting CentComm by fax or command console. They should be treated as VIPs still, unless there is serious reason to doubt their veracity and an immediate threat to crew or station from them.
Undercover agents identity is never confirmed. If they are caught, they are expected to die rather than give up their secrets, unless there is a pressing need to take control of the station.
Interaction With The Cyberiad Crew
Central Command staff always outrank Cyberiad crew members. No exceptions. Even the Captain and Magistrate are subject to their authority.
CC officers have the authority to alter, or waive, Space Law / SOP for the current shift.
There are CC officers of all species, including some species you won't see as normal crew. CC officers prefer to communicate through announcements, faxes, and radio. They always take their job very seriously, and failure to obey their commands can result in the termination of one's contract and life.
If a Central Command official appears physically on the Cyberiad, then it is likely either because of misconduct by the Cyberiad's command staff, or because of a special situation that needs careful handling.
Gameplay / General Info
If a CC officer is verified as a real agent, then they can be assumed to have an admin's permission to act as they are.
CC Staff exist in a cross of OOC and IC bounds. They are the enforcement arm (with the deathsquad) of CentComms orders. Because following orders from CentComm is part of "doing your job" for most roles, it can be considered an OOC offense to not properly follow their orders.
CC Officers may act akin to antags. They have deathsquads at their command to enforce the will of a hyper capatalist mega corporation bent on galactic economic domination. They are not the good guys - and they own your contract.
While ICly they have permission to kill as they wish, they should restrict this as per any admin event. Their equipment is OP enough that, except in extreme self defence, they should never need to kill anyone, and thus it is considered an admin removing a player from a round.
This is not to say this cannot happen. If you repeatedly insult, or attempt to strike, a Navy Officer, they may melt your face.
